Good luck to both wrestlers as they not only represent Indiana, but the good ole USA!

Sliga has a bye and will wrestle the winner of Tornike Basilashvili (Georgia) vs. Vadzim Shershan (Belarus)

I'm up early catching up on things. Kayla was in wonderful spirits last night at dinner being her usual self. She is very confident and has high expectations today. She believes she has trained harder and smarter than anyone this summer. Winning this world title has been her goal since losing to the Hungarian European Champion at last years World Championships in Hungary coming up short. Kayla will wrestle the Indian first then the Russian who was the European Champion this year. I believe this is a good draw as the Russian will have a bye in first round. The first round starts at 2pm (5am Indiana time). We are very thankful for the well wishes and prayers. I will try to update as much as I can throughout the day but, internet is not available at the venue. I will attempt to come up with a solution. I will also be updating my Facebook page so feel free to check things out there as well. Wish us luck.

The US team is doing better today with one in the finals(Zain Retherford) and two alive in the repechage(Marsteller and Ryan).

Miracle weighs in today and will wrestle tomorrow.

Retherford becomes a Cadet World Champion.  Team may have finished a little higher than 8th but both Marsteller and McKenna had to pull out early after match injuries.  McKennas guy did a number on his shoulder.

Miracle lost 3-5, 0-6 in the finals to finish in second place.  She has one more year left to bring back the gold!

One more year?  :)  At cadet maybe.  :)

I'm just kidding.  I know what you meant.  I'd say she might have 8 or 12 more years chasing world medals, though, depending on how things go.  It's awesome she could get the first one under her belt.  I know she'll be disappointed it's not gold...but she'll be pretty proud when she looks back.  Congratulations, Kayla!
