AJ
With these two tournaments going on at the same time does anyone have any thoughts or comments on either one?
RankingsGuy
The college coaches as well as the tougher competition will be at FLO. They use college out of bounds rules and I'm fairly certain riding time as well, so it's a good barometer for college coaches. It's becoming the premiere high school folkstyle national tournament. MCKAJC
Similar to Super32 and Pre-Season Nationals in Cedar Falls, Both excellent tournaments, but Flo like Super32 is the more premier event.
lpd096
IMO: It all comes down to defeating national competition. It doesn't matter where you win at, it could be in a cornfield. A win vs. a Top 20 kid is huge no matter where it's at... Probably more Top 20 kids at Flo though...but at the end of the day, the recruiters are looking for quality wins vs. top kids. That could be at USAW folkstyle nationals or Flo.
DirtyDeedsWrastlin
flo probably will have the better kids.. but folkstyle nationals will be tough also
MattM
Its a shame that NHSCA Senior Nationals, FloNationals, and USA Folkstyle Nationals are all these competitions are on the same weekend, but it is what it is. In the last few years the NHSCA Senior Nationals and Flonationals have been competing to draw in the top seniors in the country. The NHSCA event divides the kids up by age group, so other than the prestige of the Senior National title that events has lost a decent amount of underclassman to Flo. Flo will get a decent amount of top underclassman since their format allows all ages to compete within the same competition. Plus some seniors will show to that event who have won before in order to claim multiple titles and/or show perspective recruiters they are ready for the college rules format. Both of the events being located in the eastern part of the US obviously draws more from that region. The USA Folkstyle Nationals does have some good competition and its more western location helps draw in kids from that side of the country. One of the perks of USA Folkstyle Nationals is having a change to be called a National Triple Crown Winner so it will draw some kids who believe they may have a chance to accomplish that task that may have other wise went to one of the other two competitions.
