It's an impressive accomplishment for a Conference to send a large number to state.  By this level I find myself rooting for our conference and sectional much of the time as  I'm sure others do.

However, there are a few factors that do skew this data is the make up of the conferences.  In some cases almost the entire conference see's each other in sectionals and regionals thus eliminating several wrestlers from the competition and placing other into some very difficult draws for semi-state.  Other conference teams are much more spread out and will not even have a chance of seeing each other until semi-state or even the state competition and that it is luck of the draw when they face each other then.  The conference vs conference draw early clearly takes away oppertunities.

The second major factor that would throw off the data is if one conference had one or two stud teams that year.  Their numbers obviously would grow because of those teams accomplishments, but may not reflect the entire depth of the conference.  A way of avoiding that issue would be to ask what conferences sent kids from the most different teams to Semi-state and state?

If you wanted to look other factors a few conference's are made up of a few teams while others a large number, others are made up of less established wrestling programs, and some teams are not affiliated with a conference at all.  Obviously, we could look at  the strenght of sectionals and regionals as playing a factor of who advances, but that a factor for everyone reguardless.  These are detail though that are harder to take into account compared to the other two above.

ACAC Conference had 13 state qualifiers

NHC Conference had 11 state qualifiers

Pretty good for the ACAC considering it consists of small schools

ACAC with 3 semi-state champions with Lee, Batt, and Bieberstine. Not too shabby considering those three schools are small.

Everything you have said here is true & logical.  But no matter the circumstances, any individual conference with a large number of SQ's is a good indicator of overall strength. And FYI, all SIAC schools are in the Evansville Central sectional with the exception of Castle & they are all together at the Castle regional.

Additionally while it did not happen this year, In the past there have been weight classes where all 4 SQ's out of the Evansville SS where from the SIAC.  And lastly, the SIAC is comprised of 8 schools - 5 of which qualified wrestlers. It very well could have been 6, but Mastison from Evansville Harrison had a very bad TD called against him in the 1st period against Schoettle resulting in Schoettle winning 2-1 or 3-2 (I can't recall the final score for sure, but the 1st period TD was the difference)(Schoettle finished 2nd BTW).
