notice the video starts with the big 10 tourney, all other conferences are inferior when it comes to wrestling!!

Maybe this year...the Big 12 is on a down year. Look for Okie St., Mizzou, and Oklahoma to be right back in the mix next year.

Sorry, but a conference that fields 4 teams can't hold a candle to the Big 10's dominance in wrestling.

Six Big 10 schools compared to five Big 12 schools in the top 20 at NCAA tournament is dominance?

Since 1975, a Big 10 School has won the Nationl Championship 27 times or 75% of the time.  I'd call that dominance, yes, albeit Iowa is the 500 pound gorilla during t his time period.  And you're losing one of your schools to the Big 10 so you will be at four next year and it will be even more lopsided.  Sorry, but this isn't even an argument.  The Big 10 is the NFL of folkstyle wrestling.  The Big 12 can be to NCAA wrestling what the SEC is to NCAA football.  How's that?  Pretty good, just not at the level of the Big 10.

Fair enough, since 1975, Iowa, who is in the Big 10, has been dominant in collegiate wrestling.

And if you want to play it that way, who in the Big 12 has been truly dominant since 1975 other than OK St?  So my response to you would be since 1975, OK St, who is in the Big 12, has been pretty good in collegiate wrestling.  Sorry dude, I win.  You have no legs to stand on with this one.  Big 10 rules college wrestling as a conference, case closed.

Here is the numbers just for individual finalists - Both Conferences have picked it up in last decade with Big Ten averaging 8 finalists and the

Big XII averaging 6 finalists.  But when you start analyzing the depth issue in AA's the Big Ten is picking up steam...the other elephant in the room

is the depth and rugedness of the Big Ten Schedule, and the difficulty in even making it out of the Big Ten tournament compared to the ease of making

it out of the Big XII to the NCAA's.  On top of that is some of the bracketology where Big Ten members are being forced to see another Big Ten wrestler earlier in the pig-tail, 1st round, 2nd round at the NCAA's.   Note that Every Big Ten+ Team has had a National Champion in the last 20 years.

With the defection of Cael to Penn State, loss of Nebraska, Big Ten Network, and Big XII implosion, it will be interesting to see what the next 10 years hold, as no one in Big Ten area is celebrating a weak Big XII wrestling program...the quality of the rivalry has been and is good for the sport.

And for the Iowa haters, say what you want, but the Gable 1980's/90's deciples throughout the Big Ten have done wonders for the Big Ten (IA, MINN, OSU, IN, IL) to the point that some of these first deciples have now built separate identity at their school that will keep spawning quality expectations and programs (like Illinois, MIINN, OSU, Northwestern).

Thank you for the stats, but a comment stating, "the ease of making

it out of the Big XII to the NCAA's," sort of takes away your credibility. Yeah, the BIG 10 is good, Yeah the big 12 is good.

Let's have an allstar dual -  the Big 12 vs the Big 10 with all proceeds going to saving programs in jeopardy around the country. ?!?

I think the proceeds would be used up paying for the ER visits for the Big 12 boys if such a dual were to take place!  I'm kidding of course.

Have you ever watched a post game interview of a basketball player and they say "This was a great win it was a real physical game" I laugh my butt off! Especialy after you watch a post match interview and the wrestler says "I just try to wrestle my match and keep the tempo up...." at the same time he's still bleeding and can only see out of one eye because the other is swollen shut and he's still got to wrestle the semi-finals. Man I love this sport!
