Boot
Congrats! On a side note, what exactly is the NCWA? Is it similar to NAIA, just an alternative to the NCAA?
MattM
Congrats! On a side note, what exactly is the NCWA? Is it similar to NAIA, just an alternative to the NCAA? National Collegiate Wrestling Association. It does have several school and I would say its similar to the NAIA with an obvious wrestling theme. Many of the teams were former NCAA scholarship programs that were effected by Title IX issues. We had a wrestlers who went to a NCWA school in Alabama (he AA'ed) his freshman year to earn the classes he needed in order to get into West Point. Though he used the school as a prep school many of the school that participate are general universities and colleges. http://www.ncwa.net/

MattM
Good to hear indyshred. Yeah Boots it probably better to check out something like their wiki page for a slightly more in depth explanation of the organization. That were I had to go a few years back to get most of my background info.

indyshred
Thanks for all the info. I had no idea SIUE was so big. SIUE has @ 15000 students, as I said earlier is transitioning all sports to DI. Wrestling will be official next year and rumor has it that they will be joining the Southern Conference in wrestling. Some of their sports are DI right now with afilliations in the Missouri Valley Conference and the Ohio Valley Conference. Of course neither the MVC or OHV has wrestling. They do NOT play football at this school. Large, beautiful campus. Wrestling roster has 3 Indiana boys. CONGRATS again to John.
