Sam Ferdig 112 at South Bend Adams is 24-0 and not ranked in state this year, and only lost 5-2 to Paul Petrov in Semi State last year.. and Sam is seeded 7th at Al Smith

Kleveland11
Wow, is the Tourney really that tough? I would have assumed the hardest mid-season tournament was the Marion County Championships. Sounds like Al Smith may have it beat.

busstogate
I've been attending the Al for the last six years now, and never have I seen Day One with so many good matches. There might have been wrestlers there in the past that were lights-out, but the amount of very good to great wrestlers over all this year was stunning to behold. Tomorrow promises to be something very, very special.

Tomorrow promises to be something very, very special. I agree. Maybe it was because I was announcing but was impressed by the depth of good wrestlers at most weight classes. It was the first time I had stayed for the Al Smith ticket round into day 2. Great intensity with teammates supporting after 10 hours of wrestling. Very impressive. As much a test of mental toughness as physical toughness.
