Indiana-Tech Wrestling

Recommended Posts

Beginning in the 2011-2012 wrestling season Indiana Tech will participate as a varsity intercollegiate sport as a NAIA member competing school. The expectation is to have a full varsity roster and junior varsity roster.

During the inaugural season, Indiana Tech?s schedule will be designed to compete with quality NCAA, NJCAA, and NAIA opponents in preparation for the opportunity to compete in a regional qualifier as well as the NAIA national championship in 2011.

Mike Ester will be the head coach for the Warriors. Ester brings a wealth of experience and success from the high school and college levels as competitor and coach.

Ester competed for Fort Wayne Snider?s wrestling team from 1988-1992. He was a two-time state qualifier, a 3rd place medalist during his senior campaign and co-captain for the Panthers. Snider claimed the city?s first ever team semi-state championship in 1992. Ester attended Manchester College as a member of the wrestling team from 1992 to 1996. He was a 4-year letter winner, three-time onference champion, the first Spartan wrestler to be crowned hampion at the prestigious Midwest Classic, an NCAA qualifier his senior season, and a two-year team captain.

Article from Lefever Twins signing:

Fort Wayne, IN ? The Indiana Tech wrestling team is proud to announce the signing of twins, Conner and Reece Lefever from Carroll High School.

Conner and Reece both stated their goals were to continue to wrestle and improve, become All-Americans, place as a team in Nationals, and develop relationships with their Indiana Tech wrestling teammates.

They chose Indiana Tech because they were excited to be a part of the new program and wanted to wrestle for a great coach. They also liked the class sizes Indiana Tech offers, and allows them to get to know their professors.

Conner and Reece both plan to study Accounting and eventually get their CPA certificates.
