Eligibility All athletes and coaches must present proof of current USA Wrestling Membership Card at registration. Awards Custom awards to the top (4) places. Outstanding Wrestler awarded in the Junior division. Rules The current rules of FILA, with USA Wrestling modifications where applicable, will govern the competition. Uniforms RED and BLUE singlets, or red/blue reversible singlet with under briefs are required. For female athletes, a collegiate or girl?s singlet is required and a sleeveless sport top is to be worn under the singlet (no T-shirts). Headgear is required for all competitors in the Kids Divisions. No two-piece uniforms! Medical Information Athletes must be present in a COMPETITION SINGLET and must submit to a skin disease screening prior to weigh-in. The chief medical officer has full authority without appeal in determining the eligibility of an athlete to compete. In the event of injury or illness, no contestant will be permitted to continue the competition without approval of the Chief Medical Officer, whose decision is final and not subject to appeal. Weigh-Ins An athlete competing in two styles may weigh in once for both styles. This is contingent on the athlete actively competing in the first of the two wrestling styles scheduled. Each athlete will be allowed two attempts to make weight and may not leave the weigh-in area. All wrestlers must be dressed in a COMPETITION SINGLET for weigh-ins. No weight allowance for the singlet. ADDITIONAL TOURNAMENT INFORMATION KIDS REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS (Intermediate, Novice & Schoolboy/girl): ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST reside in a Central Region state to participate in the Kids freestyle and/or Greco-Roman regional tournament. All Intermediate, Novice and Schoolboy/girl wrestlers participating in the freestyle and Greco-Roman regional championships qualify for the ASICS Kids Freestyle & Greco-Roman National Championships ; June 28-30, 2010. CADET & JUNIOR REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS: BOTH DIVISIONS Cadet & Junior Regional Championships are open to ALL wrestlers that meet the necessary age requirements. Top three place winners at this event qualify for your state?s Cadet & ASICS/Vaughan Junior National Championship (in Fargo, ND; July 17?24, 2010) teams above the state limit (in the age division in which you qualify). Athletes must still adhere to all state policies and you qualify in the style in which you place. JUNIOR DIVISION Athletes shall be considered eligible to compete in Junior Division competitions if he/she is currently attending high school, or participating in a program considered by the State?s Department of Education to be fulfilling the athlete?s requirements for graduation from an accredited high school program, or if a summer event, attended high school, or participated in a program considered by the State?s Department of Education to be fulfilling the athlete?s requirements for graduation from an accredited high school program the ?Spring? semester just prior to the summer event BRACKETING & PAIRING Contestants are randomly drawn by computer. Wrestlers from the same state will be separated. One (1) pool will be used for brackets with fewer than six (6) competitors and two (2) pools will be employed if there are six (6) or more entrants in any given weight class. In the Kids & Cadet Divisions, weights with two (2) competitors will wrestle two (2) out of three (3) to determine region champion. COACHING WRIST BANDS ARE REQUIRED FOR FLOOR ACCESS. Different colored wrist bands will be issued for Kids, Cadet and Junior coaches. KIDS/CADET COACHES Floor passes will only be issued to those individuals with a current USAW Coaches Membership Card and are a minimum USAW NCEP Copper certified. JUNIOR COACHES Floor passes will only be issued to those individuals with a current USAW Coaches Membership Card and are a minimum USAW NCEP Bronze certified. Two certified coaches maximum allowed in each competitor?s corner. To videotape a match at mat side, the operator must be one of the two certified coaches in the corner. Only coaches with a current USAW Coaches Membership Card AND who are USAW NCEP certified are entitled to free admission REMINDER All USA Wrestling Coaches Membership Cards MUST be attained prior to the event, due to mandatory background check. TICKETS & ADMISSION $10.00 per day; $15.00 for both days. Children 12 and under and adults 65 and Over are free. QUALIFICATION All Intermediate, Novice and Schoolboy/girl age division wrestlers must participate in either the ISWA Freestyle State Finals or Greco-Roman State Finals in order to participate in the Central Regional Championships. Qualification is by participation only. You do not need to place. All Indiana wrestlers will receive a free Team Indiana t-shirt upon their arrival to weigh-in at Regionals.
