Just wanted to congratulate Drake on his big win Saturday! Drake is the 1st state champion since 1998 when Josh Hardy won back to back titles at 171lbs.

Congrats also to Coach Maglis and Coach Leek!

You guys do an awesome job!

Enjoy the win guys!

Congrats to all other state champions, runner ups, placers & qualifiers! You all should be proud of what you have accomplished! A dream for most, a reality for YOU!

Having seen Drake wrestle alot the last couple of years he didn't look like his normal self in his 2 matches today.  Could have been nerves but he saved his best match for last.  That's the takedown specialist I'm used to seeing.  Congrats to all the Southern Indiana wrestlers today.  Wish there would have been a few more in the finals but overall they did well.

Congrats to Coach Maglis as well.  Jimmy's a great guy and I'm glad to see him and Drake rebound after last year.  I'm sure they are both living it up tonight.

congratulations drake stein and coach maglis.  nothing like standing on that podium and reflecting on all the hard work, dedication And Missed meals.  Enjoy your time on the top for a minute and then lets get it back for next yr.  the target is on you already.  its harder staying on top then it is to get there.  just ask the two tht you had to beat win!  very proud of you as I am everyone who has put in the work.

WOW!!!Great job Drake Stein....I was a little ashamed of the lack of TV coverage by the local stations....but who cares. A great tradition at this wt. for Princeton Community: John Boes (2x runner-up), Josh Hardy (2x champ).

Great prep. Jimmy M. and Clay L....you two had him ready.

can't take anything away from stein or his coaches..  or the fans or anything...  he wrestled great..  was aggressive.. and took the fight to duckworth .. however..        i think the entire crowd understands the impact of the head thump duckworth took during the first period during a scramble..    stein had a tight wizzer...  and dropped duck on his head..      didnt seem like duckworth was his normal self afterwards..    even had noodle legs a couple times ..          i felt it showed great character for him to finish the match rather than lay down arms..            ...      stein did what he needed to do ..  which was win!..

Congrats to Drake Stein!

Folks he is one of the best representatives of our sport you could imagine.  An Honor Student, a obvious beast on the mat, and sincerely one of the best sportsmen you will see in any sport!

A well deserved lesson that great things can happen to great kids!

I watched the match on the internet with pretty good video and didnt notice anything, I though Stein controlled the whole match.

congrats to Drake on his Championship and his coach and team.  Well deserved win.  I would like to add that I thought that Duckworth displayed great Sportsmanship at the end of the match also.  While Stein was celebrating, I watched Duckworth and he slapped his hands together and then applauded the Champion.  No  disrespect to anyone,  I just thought it was the best display of sportsmanship that I saw at State.

Congratulations to MR. Stein, Jim, Clay, Scott, and Drake's dad.  It was great to see him run over to the press section and hug his father after the match.  Hope you can get you another one next year.

Just goes to show you that a stud can overcome coaching........ ;D ;D ;D

Congrats Drake, Coach Maglis, Coach Leek, Coach Wallis, and Mama & Papa Stein! It was awesome to see all the hard work pay off!  I've watched Drake a long time, and knew that he has what it takes.  Come back and do it again next year.  Be an undisputed champ and join the ranks of Jason Greer, and Josh Hardy.  And please eat some Taco Tierra for me, I love that place.

Moment of the state meet this year would be Stein staying in stance for the last four seconds of the match despite his opponent not attempting to wrestle him.  It is fun to watch a kid stay focused no matter what.

I was glad to see that also...I always tell my wrestlers it's not over until the Referee raises your hand!  Stay Focused no matter what!

thanks for all the congrats and all the support throughout the season!

I have had the privilege of coaching this young man. A few years ago out at duals he qualified to wrestle Greco. Some of our freestyle guys were beat up and Drake jumped at the opportunity to get to wrestle both styles. He went out and wrestled hard every match. It doesn't surprise me at all that he stayed in position for the duration of the match. He has a great work ethic and he was so excited to wrestle every chance that he got. He has some nice throws, too! I wish I could have been there to shake your hand after you won your title, Drake. I'll catch up with you this summer for sure!

Coach Nicola
