LSMITH
that's right big John. and there was, as always, LOTS of great wrestling at the Carroll regional today. Homestead had only a few of those great wrestlers. You would have loved it. We miss you guys so much!!! The sport needs more fans like you, fans of the sport, not just fans of their own kids. I'm breathing a little easier after every saturday. and we listen to everything you say, even from down there in the south nowadays. And just to be clear, every kid who steps on the mat deserves the utmost respect, win or lose. It is such a tough sport.

when where wrestler
IHSAA knocks out entire Winchester and Union City team. What do you mean by "Knocks Out" like disqualifies??
goul149
What do you mean by "Knocks Out" like disqualifies?? Winchester, Union City, and some of the Randolph County wrestlers schools would not allow them to make the trip to Jay County. Jay County decided to continue with the meet. So those guys that weren't there FF or the alternate took their place.

Boot
Winchester, Union City, and some of the Randolph County wrestlers schools would not allow them to make the trip to Jay County. Jay County decided to continue with the meet. So those guys that weren't there FF or the alternate took their place. Randolph Southern was further away and was able to come. There was an offer to send plows to escort their buses, but they refused. They chose to forfeit, they were not forced to. It was sad, but wrestling was delayed 6 hours to give them time to make it. What happened happened, but Bellmont actually benefited the most from this, getting 3 forfeits. In the end the decision to go ahead was made by Bobby Cox, and not Jay County or anyone else who was there. The personal attacks on coaches and Jay County staff is uncalled for and childish. I'm not attacking the Coachs or the Jay County staff, I should have put Jay County or the IHSAA decided to move on with the meet. Because at the time i did not know who made the final decision. Sorry if it seemed like an attack didn't mean for it to be.

You're one of the few people being civil. It seems like a lot of misplaced frustration to me. It was a tough call and I'm glad I'm not in Bobby Cox's shoes, but going after the coaches and directors seems in poor taste.

Good, ive tried not to bash anyone, my coach has been getting bashed pretty hard and don't want to do that to others. I would definitly not want to be Bobby Cox. decbell1
What happened happened, but Bellmont actually benefited the most from this, getting 3 forfeits. I'm not sure I even want to ask what that is supposed to mean...............? I am pretty sure the three that got forfeits were Sectional Champs and most likely would have won anyways. I am not sure how this has anything to do with the argument.
