BOONBASE Posted February 20, 2009 Share Posted February 20, 2009 I agree they are trying to cut wrestling and rifle. They say that will cover the 30% cut. I know as a parent of a wrestler there is no possible way that they account for 15% of the athletic budget. Another reason they gave is that wrestling and rifle are not a conference sport in the HCAC so they are easier to drop. Their are three teams in the HCAC that have wrestling Mt. St. Joe, Manchester, and Rose. It just sucks that my son will be a senior next year and they are possibly not going to have a program. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
nk140 Posted March 27, 2009 Author Share Posted March 27, 2009 I have just confirmed that Rose-Hulman will indeed drop the wrestling program. One of RH's coaches called me last night to let me know the situation. They are trying to reinstate that program by claiming the school is in violation of Title IX.
