I have the match split 7-7 with bonus points making the difference. Also, I noticed 4 (MD/CA) match-ups in the first round of the individual regional: 112, 130, 152, & 285. Why would Castle be the favorite? It's still M.D.'s to lose. We'll find out more about an upset at 145 . Zeke is a big time wrestler and wouldn't consider that to be an upset. I don't see Castle throwing in the towel early as in years past at team regional. I don't really see any bumping around that will help either school too much. 112 has split, 135 has split, 145 has split, 152 has been close but is Castle's to lose (same at 189 and 215). Hvy has been a good match but MD has pulled that one out. MD must get bonus points everywhere they can and I am sure that Castle wrestlers will be instructed to wrestle very conservatively where they are overmatched. Yes, the 1st time they met Seitz was not there. It should be interesting. I never count the Cats out...they always seem to do what it takes when it's all on the line...that being said...they better come to wrestle because I'm sure Castle wants it pretty bad. If Castle wins, this would be the 1st time MD didn't make it to Team State...so they'll be gunning to protect their legacy. base Posted February 2, 2009 Share Posted February 2, 2009 I'm not too familiar with the team format. When do the teams have to officially declare their lineup? Are they allowed to bump wrestlers up/down weight classes as the match is ongoing, or do they have to declare who is wrestling at what weight before the contest begins? GloryDays66 Posted February 2, 2009 Share Posted February 2, 2009 A team can change their during the meet, once a wrestler checks in at the table and steps in the circle the weight class is then locked. Remember though every wrestler (backups and regulars and if I'm not mistaken you are only allowed 21 kids for weigh-ins) have to go through weigh-ins and not to mention there are several regulations to the weigh-ins that can have a serious impact on the individual with the individual tourney, example of one, if a kid weighs 112 wrestles 130 now he cannot wrestle 112 Sat. because he recertified himself as 119 knocking him out of the Regionals by rule you are only allowed to bump up 2 weight classes.
