Does anyone have access to the "rules" regarding this form?

The Excel spreadsheet lists a "weight class entered" column.

Are we allowed to change weight classes at the sectional seeding meeting?

I want to be sure I enter my wrestlers correctly.

Any info would be helpful.

thanks,

The following is from the current Winter Bulletin:

IX  Eligibility of Participants

      B.  The IHSAA copy of the entry list is the official copy.

              1.  A wrestler entered on the official entry list may be entered in his/her listed weight class or in the class

immediately above his/her listed weight class at the seeding meeting.

              2.  After the seeding meeting, no wrestler entered and seeded or placed by draw may change weight classes

                    during the individual tournament.

I was just curious if you enter a kid and he is then injured before sectionals can you replace him with another wrestler?

The injured wrestler may be replaced but the guy you are going to replace him with must be on the  official entry list and that wrestler must be listed at that weight or the one below that weight. You can list more than one wrestler on the  official entry list that is sent online to the IHSAA.

Littlejohn:

Thanks for the response.  The only problem is that the IHSAA site where the istructions are can only be accessed by the member school AD's.  Since I am not a teacher coach, I do not have access to those instructions, and thought someone may have them.

If anyone does, please shoot me a PM.

Thanks,

The way it worked for me this year is my AD sent me an email that had the link to the site where you enter the wrestlers information for the entry list. The instructions are on that same site. I then emailed it back to the AD.

Sent an e-mail to Bobby Cox to avoid any confusion:

Here is his response:

"...a wrestler may wrestle in the weight class they are entered or if you wish at the seed meeting, move them up one class.  They may never wrestle below their entered weight class and they may never wrestle more than two weight classes above their entered class."

Thought others might like to see this clarification too.

I would assume you would want to enter the lowest qualifying weight class for all your wrestlers.  They may move up one class, but they can't move down.

It appears that this document is really being used to track birthdates to be sure all potential wrestlers are not 20 years old or older as of Feb. 20, 2009.
