former130
Whats you definition of a good wrestler. I mean is it a state champ or a regional qualifier?
former130
Alot depends on the kids athletic ability. If he is fairly athletic and he works at it year round i think it could happen in 1 year if the sectional isn't too tough.
WildCatWrestler2008
I think if you dedicate yourself into practicing all the time, going to a lot of off-season tournaments to get experience, and working hard all the time will make you become a good wrestler. Trinedad
Desire, Dedication, Perseverence. In short, work your butt off. As to how long will it take, there are so many things that go into this. You have to combine everything mentioned here as well as have some luck along the way, by that I mean, avoiding a serious injury that hinders your ability. You have to seek out quality coaching, and quality work out partners. If you dont happen to have those in your room, go outside your room to find them. Always seek out the toughest kid in your weight class and wrestle them as often as possible, only by wrestling the best can you ever hope to be the best. By that I mean your best, your definition, not someone elses. If being your best means that you win 1 match at sectionals, or if it is to be atop the podium at Conseco. Become a student of the sport, learn not only how to wrestle, but learn about how you respond to different situation, if you find that for some reason you cant get away from bottom, guess what you have to spend more time working on in the pracitce room. In the end, it will be you that desides if you were a good wrestler, only you know if you truely gave it everything, or did ya leave a little in the tank. If you leave everythng on the mat, then you are a good wrestler now, but you may need to work on your skills. There is a difference, between being a good wrestler and a skilled wrestler.
