Three Juniors Survive a Rough Morning Session

Indiana started with 11 wrestlers in the Friday morning session of Junior Freestyle, but only three survived the toughest rounds of the tournament.  Jason Tsirtsis and Jarred Brooks are still undefeated and both have only one more match left in their pools.  If they each win their next match they will guarantee themselves at spot in the finals, a loss however would still leave them with a shot, but it would be out of their hands.  Jarred McKinley will be wrestling for 5th after some gutsy wrestling all morning.  The masked avenger showed nothing more than just flat out grit and determination to make the podium here this week.  Against Josh Pennel of Michigan he lost he first period and was losing the second before hitting a headlock and pining him later in the second period.

Brooks has looked solid in his matches the past two days and has only allowed four points all tournament.  Most impressive was probably his 36 second pin against Ohio state runner-up Aaron Assad.  Tsirtsis has been...well Tsirtsis and is cruising along wrestling better as the tournament progresses.  He pinned Steve Spearman of Pennsylvania in less than a minute in a rematch of the FloNationals finals.  Both Tsirtsis and Brooks have one match in the evening session to determine their final match.
