Stevan Micic and Mitch Sliga will both represent Indiana in the Cadet Freestyle National Finals on Friday afternoon. Micic, a third place finisher from Hanover Central, has posted seven wins with no losses throughout the tournament at 98lbs. He will face Ohio's Austin Assad in the finals. Sliga is going for his fourth title in Fargo and his second in freestyle. He also has seven wins with no losses and only allowed three points all tournament. Sliga will have Jordan Ellingwood of Illinois in the finals. Ellingwood lost his first match of the tournament, but has battled back to make the finals.
Indiana also has three other Cadet wrestlers that will bring home hardware in Wesley Bernard, Jacob Cottey and Brandon James. Bernard is going to become a double All-American at heavyweight and will be wrestling for 5th place. He has Dakota Gulley of Colorado who defeated him for 7th place in Greco-Roman. Jacob Cottey will be going for 7th place at 98lbs and is 3-2 on the tournament. Brandon James will be going for 7th place at 112lbs against Josh Alber of Illinois whom he defeated 8-0 at the prestigious IndianaMat.com Open last fall.
