    Indiana 16U Freestyle and Greco Teams Battle Through National Duals with Grit

    Indiana’s 16U Men’s teams put forth a determined performance at the National Duals, highlighted by standout efforts in both Freestyle and Greco competition.

     

    Indiana Gold

    Indiana Gold started strong, finishing 2nd in Pool C with wins over Minnesota Red (53-21), Idaho (51-25), and Michigan Blue (44-31). A narrow 37-36 loss to Iowa Blue kept them just shy of the top spot.

    In the Gold/Silver Pool, Indiana Gold went 1-3, picking up a hard-fought 37-36 win over Oklahoma Outlaws Blue after facing tough losses against national powerhouses Pennsylvania Blue, Ohio, and Illinois.

     

    Top Freestyle Performers – Indiana Gold:

    • 215: Ceasar Salas – 8-0
    • 285: Kameron Hazelett – 8-0
    • 106: Traevon Ducking – 6-1
    • Jeremy Carver (113), Peyton Hornsby (144), Lincoln Hinchman (150), and Sean Breedlove (175) each finished with strong 5-3 records.

     

    Indiana Blue

    Despite not placing in Pool A with losses to Florida and Colorado, Indiana Blue found their stride in the Purple Pool, where they swept the bracket to claim 1st place, defeating South Carolina, North Carolina, South Dakota, and Utah Black.

     

    Top Freestyle Performers – Indiana Blue:

    • 285: Austin Oakley – 6-0
    • 106: Kellen Schoeff, 157: Grayson Baumann, 190: Jaxton Litchfield, and 215: Camden Williams – each went 5-1
    • Multiple athletes including Tate St. Laurent, Evan Cryderman, Bo Jackson, Cash Mays, Owen Porterfield, and Bradley Rivera all recorded 4-2 marks.

    16U Men’s Greco

    In Greco-Roman action, Indiana took 2nd place in Pool A with wins over New Jersey (38-34) and Iowa (41-33), falling just short to Pennsylvania in a 41-32 battle.

    In the Gold/Silver Pool, the team notched a win over Washington (40-30) and battled against top-tier competition, ultimately taking 6th place.

    Top Greco Performers:

    • 215: Camden Williams – 6-1
    • 285: Kameron Hazelett – 6-1
    • 144: Peyton Hornsby – 5-1
    • 106: Traevon Ducking, 113: Jeremy Carver, and 175: Sean Breedlove – all ended with solid 5-2 records.
