WOW some of these brackets are a joke!  195 has 3 of the top 4 in semi-State rankings on one side of the bracket.  Someone needs to learn how bracketing works!

The brackets aren't based on rankings. They are based on Regional placement and the luck of the draw. It just works out that way sometimes.

I hear what you’re saying, however it’s that doesn’t justify it.  If the system is egregiously flawed the need to try and fix it.

To start with semi state needs a backside!  Second they should hold a seeding meeting prior to semi state to try and get the right kids in the right spots!

If we just accept this it will never improve!

So, who are the “right kids”? And what’s the “right spot”?

Not a knock on Indiana Mat, but some of these rankings are inaccurate. To be fair, there are so many matches and wrestlers so it is hard to keep up with. Going off of rankings for the brackets would be very stupid. Go off of who that person beat and how he did in their regional.

The rankings are a reflection of almost 2000 individual results and past accomplishments.

I still think seeding meetings are the best way to go.  As far as the right kids its the kids that rank better and or have better records against other quality opponents (it's not rocket science).  Just taking a kid that won regional in a weak region and making them a number 1 seed seems WAY MORE unfair than a seeding meeting.

However, the more important issue is that a tournament with the impact of semi-state should 1000% have a backside.  I would totally give up the seeding meeting argument if it meant getting a semi-state wrestle-back!

Totally agree with wrestle backs big time.

I know you had issues yesterday, but not sure where you are getting 50 bucks from.  TW is only as good as the infrastructure at each venue and the local people running it.  I've watched and had a feed go down all of a sudden or the sound disappears before.  All due to someone killing the feed In the arena or hitting mute and forgetting to unmute.  Can be very frustrating.  Yesterday, I started watching the Ev. North Regional in the 2nd round and had no problems at all.

As for your situation, you should have been able to get a refund.  And if not, I know its not the same as watching live, but unless they lost the feed for the whole arena, you should be able to still go back and watch every match.  Nothing like having technical issues in the middle of the action, but don't give up on it.  $25 for the next 2 weekends, including archived video you can go back and watch whenever and all 4 SS is a helluva deal, even if not perfect.

Trust me, I get it.  I've fired off a few not so nice emails to Track during Tournaments with issues.  Very frustrating.  But if you can't be there, it's a much better alternative than nothing so i'll pay up every time.  Plus, every once in a while I go back and watch old matches from a year or more ago.

I could not agree less.  Annually for 10+ years I have created dozens of spreadsheets detailing the accuracy of the rankings.  IndianaMat rankings is incredibly accurate/consistent. I do not want the SS to be seeded, but if they did decide to do it, using the rankings would be an intelligent start for the process.

Guarantee ppl would not drag their feet on reporting results! Some Ppl think rankings don't matter and in relation to getting your guy prepped for a guy and competing it doesn't but when it comes to getting a kid looked at for college (I know many big schools only care about grades and National scene usually) opportunites and having  educated insight on the quality and depth of our talent then Rankings are huge..

Then you add the seeding purposes in this kind of scenario, if needed...I appreciate the heck out of the hard work these guys dedicate and volunteer and too many times does it get taken for granted..I think we're going in a better direction and would like to know if we're improving in the Result reporting @Y2CJ41 do you have any stats on that or a guess on that? I'm going to make it a obligation next year too at least report NC results better and insert big results that I see that haven't been entered in the significant result categories that I see across the board.. I'm a stat head and enjoy doing that stuff.. Anyways I think we all can agree there needs to be Wrestle backs at SS and state!

My point is that IndianaMat is fantastic but they do rely on people to report matches. If someone doesn’t report a match, then they don’t know that that happened.
