    2010 Jeffersonville Wrestling Sectional Preview

    Host Jeffersonville Red Devils look to defend their Wrestling Sectional Crown this Saturday. The Red Devils are heavily favored with 7 of their 14 wrestlers receiving 1st seeds. Corydon has 3 - 1st seeds, with Charlestown, Floyd Central, New Albany, and Providence each getting 1 – 1st seed. There are a total of 6 top 20 ranked wrestlers and 18 returning semi-state qualifiers.

    # 1 seed, Jeff Sophomore Alonzo Shepherd (36-4)(semi-state qualifier), #20 in the state, is the defending champ and will likely have a rematch of last years finals with # 2 seed, Corydon sophomore Matthew Lahue (20-3)(semi-state qualifier). However, Lahue will have to get by # 3 seed, Floyd Central junior Caleb Happel (24-6) to get to the finals.

    #1 seed, Jeff Senior Curtis Smith (33-8)(3X semi-state qualifier), will be looking for his 3rd Sectional Crown and will likely have # 2 seed, Floyd Central sophomore Zach Thomas (19-14) in the finals.

    #1 seed, Jeff Senior Devon Miller (36-4)(semi-state qualifier), looks to get his first sectional crown and will likely meet up with # 2 seed New Washington freshman, Brady Meenach (20-15). But Meenach will have to get by semi-state qualifier, # 3 seed, Justin Wolf of Charlestown.
