Do a couple of these guys, assuming they place high, become really desirable D1 recruits now with the new rules that JC years don't use up any eligibility? They're 2 years more mature physically (basically ages 21 to 25 available for D1 years), they're proven against college competition, and they're a proven commodity in terms of the wrestle/study grind. Wouldn't D1's going forward view a proven JC hammer more favorably than, say, an 18-year-old who is #15 in the nation at his high school weight?

Second point on that: Will more kids going forward view JC as a more desirable route since they're not using up NCAA eligibility?

Example: My offers are an out-of-state MAC or an in-state good small-school. I think I'm Big 10 material. I'll go to a JC and prove I'm Big 10 material--plus give myself 2 more years of doing what I love. If I fail to prove myself, I can still go to the smaller schools anyway. And I can still graduate in 4 years if I decide to anyway.

Jaquan East is a man on a mission picking up all techs and falls so far, making the semis and another AA status. He will be a valuable pickup for a school next year. Brice Coleman was the number 1 seed and fell first round but battled all the way back and won his bloodround match. Ashton Hayhurst made the semis as the 12 seed as well.

He just bear the #2 seed 6-4 to punch his finals ticket!

Gavyn Whitehead mauled his semis opponent 19-5, moving to 35-2 with 26 bonus point Wins

Congrats Mr. Whitehead and all you New Castle guys.  Any D1 programs knocking?

Congrats to all Indiana wrestlers still wrestling at the collegiate level.

Thank you very much! I'm sure they will be big Dog! I told em,  just make sure he is happy, not gonna just say he went D1 and not get a honest shot at getting to wrestle or just be a face in the crowd.. Regardless of what division he's in, you want to see your ppl prosper and go where their academic side will be best suited as well..I love that he's grown and matured being away from home, as well as really taken his overall skillset, mindset, maturity and his self accountability to the next level.
