    Indiana Tech Wrestling Ranked 8th in NAIA Coaches' Poll

    POLL | KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Indiana Tech wrestling team, fresh off its best season ever, garners the No. 8 ranking in the NAIA Wrestling Coaches' Top 20 Poll, the national office announced Wednesday. The Warriors received 53 points en route to their 18th-consecutive ranking in the poll.

    Tech boasts six ranked wrestlers, including two top five individuals – Travis Barroquillo (3rd, 141 pounds) and Mitch Pawlak (4th, 133 pounds). Kristopher McKinley is sixth at 125 pounds while LJ Grayson is seventh at 184 pounds.

     

    Mitch Roadruck also registered at top-10 ranking, tying for the position at 149 pounds with Brett Yarbrough joining Pawlak at 133 pounds, ranking 14th in that weight class.

     

    The Orange and Black won their first-ever East Region Qualifying tournament and placed eighth at the NAIA National Championships with three All-Americans, including the programs first national runner-up in Justin Brooks, who has since graduated.

     

    Three-time defending national champion, Grand View (Iowa) retains the top spot with 154.5 points, 53 ahead of No. 2, Southern Oregon. Great Falls (Mont.) is currently third at 86 points with Missouri Valley (71.5) and Montana State-Northern (69) rounding out the top five.

     

    The Warriors open their 2014-15 campaign on Sunday, Nov. 2 when they travel to East Lansing, Mich. to compete in the Michigan State Open.
