Rick Hamilton said wrestling can get in someone’s blood because of its competitive one-on-one nature. But for Hamilton’s son, Churubusco senior Jordan Hamilton, something in his blood almost ended his wrestling career.

Jordan Hamilton’s arm swelled up on the first day of spring break in April, sending the then-junior to the hospital. The diagnosis was a blood clot, and the family’s reaction was one of concern.
