2 wrestling coaches dislike guidelines for seeding
By Michael Pointer

Warren Central's Brandon Wright might be the best wrestler in the state regardless of weight class. He handed Roncalli's Justin Kieffer his only two losses. The duo is ranked 1-2 at 125 pounds by indianamat.com.

Yet, neither will be the top seed at Saturday's Shelbyville Sectional, thanks to criteria recommended by the Indiana High School Athletic Association -- and their coaches are not pleased.

Very interesting tidbits  in this article....

Shelbyville assistant coach Al Parsons, the sectional director, said he knew the seeds would be controversial, and he asked coaches at Monday's meeting if anyone had a problem with it. The majority did not, he said.

The IHSAA guidelines, which are not mandatory, also give the option of seeding a wrestler higher than the criteria suggests if they believe he is clearly better than the competition, but no one requested it, Parsons said

Sounds to me that the argument should be with the coaches at the seed meeting and not with the IHSAA.  Remember they are guidelines not rules.
