how do you embed a pic in the body of a post?

1. Get the address of the image
If its on your hard drive you will have to find somewhere to host it like Tinypic.com or Photobucket.com
2. Then to insert it into a post insert the link into the post, then highlight it.  Then press the "Insert Image button."  Its in the second row, second from the left.
