Looks like NY brought  a pretty stacked squad - especially in middle and light weights -- not as much information on there heavier guys.

Looking forward to seeing our guys wrestle em tough!

Fairly close meet but NY pulls it out against our Freestyle team in round 1.  We are currently leading Georgia's Red team in our first consolation round match.

Gritty performance by our boys against a very tough NY squad (tied for 5th overall seed).  Couple of close ones got away from us and some really nice wins.

They bounced back nicely to crush GA's #2 team 56 - 11.

Will get the looser of MI Blue (#2 overall seed) and CA - likely CA, which should be another good test for our boys.

Nice job thus far!

California will be an easy one to get past.  They have been on a mission lately to prove the worth of the east coast to the rest of the US and convinced some of their national studs to make the trip along with the rest of their solid lineup.  Hopefully they can continue the momentum from this past round.  Could be a few interesting matchups.

Does anyone know if Deondre Wilson weighed in for the Freestyle team at 113?  Micic v Valencia would be a good one!

I would love to see them arrange things so Micic either got Valincia or Cicneros (he's not related to Alex C. I believe but darn good himself).   But this early in the team competition they may not want to shake up the lineups to much for the sake of some good individual matches.  The strength and explosive speed of Kennedy vs. the length and craftiness of Valencia may still present a unique matchup of styles.  Forte and the bigger Valencia could be interesting too.

If anyone is interested in case IN faces them, the SeeMy Sport cam on www.themat.tv is for Oklahoma's team.

Micic did not bump up, right now they are in a war with CA, hopefully they can pull it out.

That's for the Disney Duals (other thread :) )  If I remember correctly from years past they usually don't update any results for that until the following day.  I'll add it over to the DD link though so others can check it out.

Indiana Freestyle really stepping things up after their first round lose.
They pull out a solid win over California (Forte nice win over a talented Valencia).
The team will now get a rematch against New York in the 3rd place match (with a win there chance at true second in the pool).   NY has had close matches so far, so hopefully that has worn them down since the first encounter.

Here are the results from the first meeting with NY.
We may see some gamesmanship and if possible even a few lineup arrangement coming into play for both team this time around  since a chance at true second on the line.

Match #1 Quarterfinal: New York defeated Indiana 38-23
100 - Jesse Dellavecchia (New York) over Ethan Briggeman (Indiana) Pin 1-1,0:48
106 - Jake Sinkovics (Indiana) over Nick Cassella (New York) Dec 5-5,4-2
113 - Stevan Micic (Indiana) over Kyle Kelly (New York) TF 8-0,9-3
120 - John Aslanian (New York) over Terrence Kennedy (Indiana) Dec 8-1,5-2
126 - Dylan Realbuto (New York) over Nathan Carmichael (Indiana) Dec 2-0,3-0
132 - Renaldo Rodriguez-Spencer (New York) over Levi Moss (Indiana) Dec 6-0,3-4,3-1
138 - Tommy Forte (Indiana) over Jessy Williams (New York) Dec 4-0,1-0
145 - Josh Farrell (Indiana) over David Almaviva (New York) Dec 0-1,1-0,2-0
152 - Brian Realbuto (New York) over John Tatum (Indiana) TF 7-0,6-0
160 - Brian Harvey (Indiana) over Connor Sutton (New York) Dec 3-1,6-3
170 - Burke Paddock (New York) over Austin Neibarger (Indiana) Dec 0-2,2-0,7-1
182 - Riley Lefever (Indiana) over Tim Schaefer (New York) Dec 1-2,3-2,3-1
195 - Chris Loew (New York) over Jeff Dixon (Indiana) Pin 7-0,1:48
220 - Soslar Gularov (New York) over Ian Early (Indiana) Dec 6-3,0-1,4-1
285 - Dante Salkey (New York) over Georgio Blades (Indiana) TF 7-0,6-0

Not looking good for IN thus far, the light weights ran into a little more of a struggle than they had in the first encounter.   (Forte stuck with #4 ranked Q. Murphey for awhile before Murphey wrapped up a pin at the end of the 1st).  Middle weight pulling back a little closer.

NY has made a few line up adjustments in throughout their line up which mostly have been working out in their favor.  Adding in a few wrestlers we didn't see the first time around.

The upper weight are going to need to come up big so NY isn't able to just go into conservation mode near the end.

NY  was able to overcome Indiana for a second time today, due to some big lineup adjustments on their part.  That leaves the IN Freestyle team at 4th in Pool B.  We will compete in the top consolation pool in the final day of competition tomorrow.

Wrestling Arizona now for what looks to be another tight dual.  On a side note the Illinois vs. Missouri is pretty exciting as well with Ke-Shawn Hayes giving Nkosi Moody the business, now Singh vs. Pawelski...but let's get it Indiana!!!!

Looks like IN will likely beat FL (Fl giving up lots of FF).  If PA beats NY we will wrestle NY a 3rd time!

Since there was no placement up for grabs it looks like IN and NY may have said 2 times was plenty.  They both currently ate in exhibitions with other teams.  IN soundly beating Colorado at the moment.
