Buroughs and Howe are up now....whistle just blew and Burroughs already took him down and got exposure points. He's just unreal....3-0 Burroughs with 1:30 left

The Juggernaut not throwing in the towel. Nabs a deep, sweet single leg and makes it 3-1

30 secs left, Howe knew it was coming, but Burroughs unleashed his trademark freighttrain double and Howe was pushed out....4-1. Howe gets a late TD...Burroughs wins the period 4-2. There was good and bad in the period, for sure

The good was 2 sweet single leg takedowns, the bad is that Burroughs is almost impossible to stop even when you know what's coming.

2nd period, Burroughs gets a push out, leads 1-0. Howe ties it up at 1:15 mark with another nice single

Howe controlling the head, nearly gets another TD....stalemate. It looks like Howe has a revised strategy maybe. Try to control Burroughs' head. Howe gets a TD with seconds left!!! Wins the period. Outstanding work by Andrew

Third period. Tying up, trying to knock each other off balance....1:20 left, still no score. Still tying up, Howe briefly working a Russian tie. Howe neutralizes the blast double, but Burroughs comes back with it and gets the push  out, leads 1-0. Howe deep on a single, Burroughs fights it off, causes stalemate with 18 secs left. SO CLOSE to a takedown, but no dice for Howe....10 seconds....time is gonna run out on Howe, but he did a fantastic job. Burroughs wins the first round. Howe is limping. I think Burroughs tweaked his ankel in the scramble at the end of the third period. You could see Howe wince when it happened. THis ain't good, not good at all

Howe defaults the second match due to injury, big time bummer for him.

Man, that's just terrible. You could see the moment when it happened. Burroughs really torqued on his ankle and Howe seldom shows pain, but you could see that something happened. Such a bummer and he has to wait four more years to get another crack at the Olympics. Puts a damper on an otherwise outstanding day

When they announced Howe's injury, there was a very loud 'awwwww' from the crowd. They really support Howe here.
