Usually not until the day or two before.  If you go to some of the national wrestling message boards someone usually has done their homework and posted projected seeds

Can't wait for the tournament to begin.  Great wrestling, visiting family and friends, and collecting my prize from raven150.

About three years ago the NCAA implemented a new criteria for qualification.

About a week before the conference tournaments start the NCAA will release a qualification standard for each weight class in each conference.  For instance in the Big 10, 125 will get their top 5, 133 top 6, 141 top 4, etc.  It is all determined by how the wrestlers in that weight class performed during the season.   After the conference tournaments are completed there will be wildcard slots awarded to wrestlers in all conferences that might have had a poor conference tournament, but had a good regular season.

This is the new qualification in a nutshell.

I watched IU V Nu. I can't believe Chalfant let that match go at the end.
