Let me put my opinion of 220 being the toughest weight class in another light:
There were at least 6  or 7 guys that could have won it,  There was no clear cut
favorite.  Most of the other weight classes there was either a clear cut favorite,
such as Brooks at 113  and Jackson at 138.  some other classes might have had
2 or 3 guys that could've won, such as 106 (Boston or Micic), 120 (Petrov, Todd or
Phillips) etc.  But 220 had 6 or 7 guys that might have come out on top.  I just thought
it was very rude for someone to get on here and try to take some of the pride out of the
champ by saying that someone in a lower weight class could have beaten him.  I know of
someone that I could say could have won his and the two weight classes above his, but that
would be rude and I'm not going to lower myself to be as rude as the person that posted
the aforesaid remark about beating a champ of a higher class.

That doesn't make it tough, that means there is a lot of parity in the weight class.

That means that there were a lot of tough hombres in that weight class.

No it doesn't.  At the Carroll sectional there were about four kids with legitimate shots at winning the weight class.  It was also probably the weakest weight class in the sectional.  Just because there is parity doesn't mean it is tough.

Are you trying to say just because there is parity that it can't be tough?
There is a l;ot of parity in the Big Ten basketball this year and it was just
called the toughest conference by the sportswriters.

There is a lot of difference between 4 guys having a chance of winning a
sectional and 6 or 7 guys winning a state championship.

Mr. Right:    To say that either Sliga or Berry would have won the title at 220 shows that you
are not a Tyler Kral fan.  He had the toughest draw of any weight class.  Did you see the
builds on the 220lbers that he beat.  You were probably mad regarding the call
that went against Robinson.  I heard that the officials were not going to make any
adjustments to the call unless it got protested.  Coach Vlink and Rodriquez, being
on the ball and knowing the rules as well as any official did indeed protest and the call was
negated as it should have been since one of the officials did see the move initiated
off the mat.   To say that Sliga or Berry could have won the 220 is very disrespectful
and very bush league.  Get a life.  Neither one of them could have went through the
monsters that Kral did.   Robinson was a good sport about it and I wish him the best and hope
he wins state the next 2 years.  I think he could even win it at heavyweight if he should put
on some weight.  He is one strong dude.

I don't think it is disrespectful to say that Sliga or Berry would have won 220.  I think they might have won that weight as well.  I think Sliga would have won 182(if he made the weight), 195, 220, and heavyweight...imo

I was there for the Biddle/Samuels match, and it looked like Biddle caught Samuels in a type of crackdown finish.  What I can't recall is if Biddle initiated it with a high crotch.  Samuels could have tried a waist overlock counter, and Biddle could have kept the leg and one elbow of the waistlock while tripoding and then doing a  normal front to back bridging spin to come over with the leg hook.

Sorry to go through this, but the Biddle/Samuels match came up in the forums last week and the memory came back all except for how it started.  It seemed out of nowhere at the time, but it also seemed like something Biddle might have had in his arsenal.  Gerry Abas showed this type of crackdown finish that I described off of the Camp of Champions DVD set from 2004-5 or so.

It was a a traditional cradle that Oudhuis was stuck with.  Biddle sort of caught Samuels in a peterson/"LEGENDARY" reverse cradle fall

Wasnt Kral ranked #1 all year and was a returning state semi finalist at the same weight class (215),  thats a pretty clear cut favorite in my mind. Parity dosent necessarily make a weight class tougher. Y2's example is a perfect example of that. Come up with another reason, that could be shot down, why the 220 class was so loaded.  Everyone knows your talking about Tsirstis when you say that he could win 2 weight classes up above the one he won.  Only a knuclehead wouldnt know that....  so does that mean your also being rude since you didnt name names but you referred to it?  Thats like me saying I can't believe this guy thinks Kral beats Sliga and Berry...  everyone knows who THIS GUY is.  Should Berry or Sliga take offense since you said Kral beats both of them.  You argument is so weak. If you think my opinion is so wrong maybe we should make a topic out of it and see what everyone else says.  That would be a ton of typing for you trying to convince everyone that Krals draw was so tuff. Hey guy dunland wrestling is over for the season,  why dont you go play peaknuckle.

This argument is so stupid. The ones with the toughest draws were either

Micic
Petrov
kriech
Robinson

Although going by records Kral had one of the toughest, Which he did have a tough road but knowing most of the guys he wrestled i thought were overrated.
