106 - Kennedy doesn't have any trouble. Best match will come from Nawl.
Kennedy FC
Lynch NA
Nawl VL
Burton P

113 - I think it will be tough for Whitley to win two weeks in a row but he might have gotten a slight edge by beating him in the finals last week. I can see this one going either way.
Whitley FC
Lahue Co
Schitter Ja
Graber W

120 - Shepherd doesn't get challenged until semi-state.
Shepherd Je
Popp FC
Ramirez SR
Eckart Ja

126 - This class is wide open. Any one of the four can win it.
Kerstiens JA
Meenach NW
Jamison NA
Schremp Jeff

132 - Marler outlasts the competition in this class but Griffith held tight last week.
Marler FC
Griffith Pr
Chavez Ja
Meza Wa

138 - FC matroom pays off.
Troutman FC
Brescher Ja
Meza Wa
Mundy SR

145 - Should be a good finals match. Floyd is very tough in this stretch of classes.
Emily FC
Mundy SR
Osha W
Kempf Pr

152 - Not sure if Burnette can handle the strength and flexibility of Browner. He's tough to hold down.
Browner Je
Burnette Mi
Stenftenagel Ja
Franklin NW

160
Abell FP
Kaelin Pr
Dean NW
Rice Pa

170 - Marlin was tough last week but should be challenged on the way this week.
Marlin Je
Stetter SR
Shepard P
Hall Ch

182 - Could see a McCutcheon/Randall rematch but picking Cissell to take it. I'll take Randall in a rematch over Mc if it happens.
Cissell W
Randal FC
McCutcheon Ch
Songer Ja

195 - Curtley is the best but Southridge rounds it out.
Curtley Je
Valenciano Ja
Schwinghamer SR
Smith W

220 - Tempted to pick Andrey over Ottersbach but Ottersbach is on a roll.
Ottersbach FC
Andrey Pa
Hedrick W
Schwoeppe SR

285 - All the big boys from Southridge get rematches.... tempted to put Jolley-Little at 3rd though.
Phillips Mi
Schwoeppe SR
Honaker W
Miller PC

Many of these classes are wide open. I could see a lot of upsets.... Charlestown could knock some people off if they catch them early, but based on last week they gassed pretty bad in the 3rd. New Albany was looking very good at sectionals. They may upset a couple in the 1st round. Jeff has some guys that could go for first or fourth depending on the day. I think FC repeats last week's performance with the most champs.

Looking back, I probably picked heavy on the Southridge side but just picked on first thought. As it stands:
Southridge sectional: 32
Jeffersonville sectional: 24

Didn't know they scored the individual regional?  If they did or do the Jeff sectional would/will dominate!

This seems like the closest these two sectionals have been in years.  Here are my much anticipated picks.

106
Kennedy - Floyd    Shouldn't have many problems with this group.
Burton - Paoli
Lynch - New Albany
Nawl - Vincennes Lincoln

113
Lahue - Corydon   1-1 on the year now with Whitley, I wouldn't  bet against the freshman this weekend.
Whitley - Floyd
Schitter - Jasper
Graber - Washington

120
Shepherd - Jeff   If he breaks a sweat, it will be during his warmups.
Popp - Floyd
Eckert - Jasper
Ramirez - Southridge

126
Jamison - New Albany   Deep class of good wrestlers.  I'll take the one with a chip on his shoulder from last week.
Schremp - Jeff
Meenach - New Wash
Kersteins - Jasper

132
Marler - Floyd   It will be another battle but Marler is more battle tested.
Griffith - Providence
Meza - Washington
Chavez - Jasper

138
Troutman - Floyd     Guy just gets the job done.
Brescher - Jasper
Meza - Washington
Stuart - Charlestown

145
Mundy - Southridge    The "other" sectional gets on the board.
Emily - Floyd
Fridley - Jeff
Kempf - Providence

152
Burnette - Mitchell   Colt "Like the horse" Burnette makes daddy proud.
Browner - Jeff
Franklin - New Wash
Stenftenagel - Jasper

160
Abell - Forrest Park   Abell looks a level above the rest in this class.
Kaelin - Providence
Dean - New Wash
Rice - Paoli

170
Marlin - Jeff        Man is this weight loaded or what?  I like Marlin and his tough sched in this matchup.
Stetter - Southridge
Shepard - Paoli
Hall - Charlestown

182
Cissell - Washington    Has looked really good so far this year.
Randall - Floyd
McCutcheon - Charlestown

Valenciano - Jasper
Schwinghammer - Southridge
Lynch - New Albany

220

WOW!!! I have NO predictions for this weekend, merely hope that these kids don't have to see the comments made by some of you "so-called" adults.  I have known Bailey for quite some time and will neither be "out for revenge" nor was he "broken" by any of your wrestlers.  He helps his teammates and tries to be a good role model for someone so young.  His tears Saturday were not from losing or being broken, he simply wants his parents to be proud of him...as well as his many coaches.  He has a lot of weight on his shoulders for a 14-year-old boy and you should all be ashamed of yourselves for turning their hard work and dedication into a pissing match!  I am there every weekend rooting for each kid on our team including my own...and especially Bailey.  We try to be good sports and teach them that winning is MORE than getting your arm raised in the circle...it is about pride, hard work, dedication to one's team and coaches, and being a good person all the way around.  I watched the way some of you acted Saturday and it was pretty dispicable to say the least.  Showing appreciation for your wrestlers is one thing...just being out for blood is another.  And quite frankly....there was a whole lot of stalling going on for your peacock feathers to be showing quite so brightly.  These kids deserve more than a buch of nasty comments from grown men living vicariously through their sons....they ALL deserve respect!  So I say GOOD LUCK to ALL of you...and I hope that you show more sportsmanship Saturday in front of those kids than you have been showing on here!

I don't see any where on here where someone was talking bad about Bailey. He is a very talented wrestler that carries himself very well. predicting that someone will beat him isn't talking bad about him it is making a guess, and that what all these post are, guesses. I am sorry if you were offended and that wasn't the intention of anyone on this site. Every one makes predictions about all sorts of happenings and that is part of life. Some of these "so called adults" you are talking about are the wrestlers themselves. I hope Bailey wasn't offended by someone thinking that he will get beat because that is always going to happen. He carries himself very well and I am sure it bothers you more than it will ever bother him. Every member of the Lahue family I have talked to at wrestling meets have been very good people . There will always be unsportman like people everywhere you go  and I seen some Saturday also but there are more good fans in this sport than bad. That is why this is such a good sport.

i wasnt there and dont have a dog in the fight but my son is a senior and all the stuff that happens to them now along with some good parental guidence develops them into the young man that they are about to become.  if you see some behavior that you dont like or agree with, use it as a developmental tool, my son doesnt celebrate much after a win because he doesnt want his opponent to think that it was a big deal to him to have beaten him. that may seem aragant but it comes from one of his heros from iowa. regardless of his reason or were it comes from he always represents himself in a gentlemanly fashion

I’ve been around enough to know…
It’s too bad people have to drop subtle little innuendos, but, men being men, that’s normally how it goes.  That’s how we roll.

While FC has produced great wrestlers, the Samuel’s for instance, and should be commended for said accomplishments, let’s not overlook other teams shall we?  How about taking a look at the Jeff Red Devil’s shall we?

Frequenting the room: Josh Stith – state qualifier and, most recently, Police and Fire Games World Champion in Freestyle; Ranaldo Weekly - state runner up; John Clark -  3rd at state; Jimmy Pratt – 7th at state

Coaches: Coach Kyro – state qualifier, Michigan; Coach Robinson – state qualifier, Washington State; Coach Connin – state champ, Michigan; Coach Alonzo Shepherd Sr. - 2 time state qualifier; Coach's Fridley, Bailey, and Browner - collegiate wreslting experience; Coach Harper - led multiple ISWA National teams; Coach Struck – USA Wrestling National Coach of the Year

Yes, FC has had its share of state qualifiers, but so has Charlestown, and so has New Albany, and etc., and all have great coaching staffs.  I know the “FC mat room” must pay off, but the 5 of the last 6 sectional titles and 3 of the last 4 HHC titles doesn’t sound too bad for the Jeff Wrestling room…and all that without transfers…

Question to ponder: Wonder what place New Albany would have had with 2 more champions on their team?  Coach Burris did an amazing job!

WOW! Red Devil Pride , you must not like those Floyd Boys! The question was "how many state placers will be in the gym?" Not on the F.C.'s staff. You are correct about Jeff having a great staff, and along with other teams as well. But then you have to attack Floyd about some kids that transfered there in the same school district which is legal. As for your question, we will never know because those kids are now Highlanders!  Plus if you want to talk about tranfers into a school?  I remember a heavy weight that went to a different school then attended Jeff and helped them win a sectional that was decided by a match or two with F.C.! Ponder this,"What if he doesn't attend Jeff and stays at his old school, does Jeff beat Floyd?" NOPE! Floyd Central has Won more sectionals and regionals titles than most and they will again here soon! You mentioned it Floyd -3 Jeff -0 State of Indiana!

Binkley and Burress, New Albany both Runners up I believe

Cooper was a 2x, and big bro Kyle and Sisson both wrestled under the lights

Doherty was a 2 timer.

Fleming made it to the show, when he was a Pioneer

Labo was a runner up at Vincennes

Pike Central coach was a pretty good heavy when he was at Reitz..

Steftanagel at Jasper has a medal too!  Hes got some assistant that have been there, Brescher stands out Im sure there are more..

Mitchell's coach was a heavyweight Wisconsin state champ and All-American lineman at the Air Force Academy.

Frankly, I am getting sick and tired of everyone on other teams and this flippin' board bringing up my son's name cause he transfered to FC!!  Do you really know me and my family?  Do you realize that my Mother is very sick with stage 2B Pancreatic cancer?  Do you realize that I'm missing income by taking care of her and taking her to chemo and radiation every single day? Do you realize I hve recently been diagnosed with a life altering debilitating disease?  So we moved into a smaller house so I could be close to my parents and take care of my mom!  I live right next to her in the house I grew up in and it happens to be in FC's district.  My son doesn't have his license cause he spends too much time wrestling!!  So we switched to FC and it was not easy to do!  I had a real hard time laying down my Red & Black Colors!  Maybe you don't realize how hard it is to pull your child out of something you feel you had some responsibility for helping to build!  I worked hard for the NA team and I was there anytime I was asked to be.  My son didn't throw his singlet down and walk out in a huff.  He personally went to Burres' home and talked to him out of respect.  My Son wreslted with Burress for 5 year and the coaches in there taught him so much and respected everyone of them when we made the decision that was best for our family!  I have ALWAYS ALWAYS cheered for the kids I know on each and every team and there are quite a few matches against Floyd and NA, or Floyd and Jeff... that I just keep my mouth shut throughtout the match cause I can't being myself to cheer against one or the other.  Since we made our move that none of you idiots have a clue about My husband and I have been confronted on several occasions by people that I won't name that have gotten in our face and screamed YES SCREAMED as us about our son being illegal!  My son did not wrestle for NA his sophmore year because of a severely hurt shoulder and a major repair operation.  So even if we did not legally move he still would have been eligible to make the choice to move to Floyd! I personally walked up to several Jeff wrestlers, NA Wrestlers, and Lahue and told them they did a great job out there!!  In fact, I had a long conversation with Nancy Schremp and Jordan about hi win and told him I was very very impressed with the way he has wrestled this season and I hope he continues on this streak.  I talkied to Hunter Castleberry from NA and told him he did a amazing job in his match against my own son.  I talked to his dad and tols him I was impressed with his new strength and drive.  I wish all the wrestlers the best!!!  But I'm telling you now... My mom will be in stands with me on Saturday and I don't want to hear a word from anyone about any of this illegal transfer crap!  My kid is a strong and motivated kid and he could give not a care about what you people say on this board!  I'm not gonna sit here and let you bash him without a reply.  But you've no idea the reply you might get if you approach me or my husband if my parents are sitting near!!  The first person who makes my mom feel guilty about being sick and my stepping up to take care of my mom will hear it.  In fact, that officer you sent over to tell only the FLOYD people that they can't cheer over the rails while all other teams are allowed, get in my face this weekend and see if I don't file a report on you!  I don't know who you are cause I've been verbally assaulted by 2 Jeff mom's and apparently talked about by 2 New Albany mom's (yeah I still have people there that respect me and tell me the BS) IT'S OVER NOW! Don't consider it a threat or even a promise cause that's not what I'm trying to do.  I'm just saying I'm tired of all the BS!  This is Highschool Wrestling and something I enjoy watching is turning into a nightmare for me and my family!  Frankly, I could give 2 craps what anyone thinks, the people that know the TRUE story not the one that has been fabricated and sent about by people who got their feelings hurt cause we left know that the Marler's had a very good and valid reason to leave!  I give much respect to Danny Struck and his coaching staff, as he has opened up his wrestling room to my son several times and has always been cordial and helpful to me.  I have returned to favor to Jeff by donating items to the silent auctions, helping run the silent auction (I believe this took place while my son was on New Albany's roster though recovering from shoulder surgery at the Jeff Classic that NA didn't attend!  But I made it there to help because I promised Shayla I would help her).  I've been there to do pairing for their off season tournaments.  Last year after we left NA I still contacted all of the NA folks to book their hotel rooms for the off season tournaments! I say hello to Coach Burress and Coach Binkley every time I see them and wish them good luck (without a look of constipation on my face) cause I mean it!  My son talks to Mitch Robb & Joe Caffe every time he sees them and actually set with them at State last year in which the only reason we went was to watch the Jeff boys and cheer with their section!!  Why?  Cause I care about all these boys. I'm not gonna hide behind some screen name either this is Paula Marler and my son is Tre' Marler!  I love highschool wrestling and I'm very proud of my son!  I will continue to sit and talk with my friends from all schools and if you don't like me sitting next to you in my GREEN & GOLD cause I'm gonna wear them with PRIDE you can move! I love my new wrestling family and I love and respect the coaching staff up there and I appreciate all they do!  I have watched my son grow tremendously up there!  And I wish all wrestlers even MATMOM's kid the best of luck and REGIONALS Saturday!!  WRESTLE HARD WRESTLE SMART!!!  Don't let the ignorant BS get in your head!  To be the best our gotta beat the best and it don't matter what colors they are wearing!
