I think the bigger picture here needs to be taken into effect.

Tito put UFC back on the map and I"m sure when he was champ, fighter salaries were no where near what they are today. I would call this back-pay.
Bisping is huge in Britain is to them what Cotoure or Liddell was to us. He brings in the UFC millions of dollars over there.  Rampage is a huge star, he's in movies, he's here, he's there, and he's still very competitive in the octagon
Nog is the same as Bisping, except in Brazil. Did you see the UFC in Brazil? Dude is Elvis down there!
It's easy to say that Wanderlei's money is wasted, but he has earned every penny.

MSNBC and ESPN have both done pieces that have talked about saleries in MMA.  Both make some points for and against how the UFC handles it.

I would say over 95% of these fighters still need  to have a day job...You cant compare to other sports as far as amount paid there are too many variables...apples & oranges....This sport is still a tough way to make a living no matter who you are !!!!
