Saturday OCTOBER 14

Moore helped the Vikings as they underwent a youth movement last season. Three true freshmen started every dual while seven of the 10 Vikings to compete at the Eastern Wrestling League Tournament were doing so for the first time in their career. Nick Corba earned an at-large berth to the 2017 NCAA Championships with Moore’s guidance. Corba claimed two bonus-point wins at the national tournament, the first Viking to achieve that feat since 1995.

In his first season at CSU, Moore helped a pair of wrestlers to NCAA Championship berths. Both Riley Shaw and Sam Wheeler reached the round of 16 at NCAA’s as each hit the 30-win mark for the year. At the EWL Championships, Shaw won the title at heavyweight, while the Vikings had six wrestlers place in the top four at their respective weight classes. The Vikings went 4-2 in EWL dual meet action, defeating Bloomsburg, Clarion, George Mason and Lock Haven. Cleveland State finished tied for second, only behind nationally ranked Edinboro.

As Kent State’s top assistant, Moore was also the recruiting coordinator for the program and garnered multiple top 20 ranked recruiting classes, recruiting heavily from Ohio and Pennsylvania. He was also the founder and director of the Kent State Wrestling Camps, which has eclipsed 3,000 campers since their start in 2006.

Moore is a 2004 graduate of Penn State where he was a two-time NCAA All-American, finishing as a national runner-up in 2004 and a third-place finisher in 2003. He is the Penn State record holder for all-time matches.
