Had 2x champ Eric Galka- DNP

 

1X Champs

Javier Salas- Won it

Anthony Williams- 3rd

Reece Freeman- 5th

Ethan Harris- 7th

 

Aaron Estrada- 4-time qualifier/2-time placer

Alex Weinzapfel- 4-time qualifier/2-time placer

 

Marcus Miller- 3-time qualifier/2-time placer

Brian Vest- 3-time qualifier/1-time placer

Eli Michel- 2-time placer

 

Freeman beat two state champs and finished 5th

106 pounds from the 2011-2012 season. Lots of state titles and college wrestlers in that bracket! One thing to note for this weight class: most of these guys were Sophs and Froshys who went on to have stellar careers after this tourney.

Lots of talent that will compete at the next level

You got to qualify that most of the them were freshman in 2014.  From what they accomplished in career, its probably one of the best.    But in 2014, it wasn't one of the toughest brackets at state.

You have two ways to think about this one.  

 

Best weight ever in terms of all time accomplishments by those wrestling in it.

Best weight ever in terms of most accomplishments prior to and during that year by those wrestling in it.

 

I'd say proven accomplishments maybe slightly trump all time in terms of how good the weight was that year, but there is merit to both.
