NICfan
Individually it is a meatgrinder always. Even if the team competition looks down, individually it is always tough.
littlevito
If anything the team competition is stronger than it use to be. They have been doing a great job of eliminating teams that have a lot of forfeits and trying to bring in solid teams. I see this tournament stronger team-wise now than back in the 2000s and late 1990s.

I see this tournament stronger team-wise now than back in the 2000s and late 1990s. I agree the team depth is more. I think when people are saying the team race is "down", it's because there are only a couple top 10 teams and the favorite is only #5 in the state. There have been years with a couple Top 5 teams and four in the Top 10, giving the appearance of a stronger team race. But if you compare the 10th and 20th best teams in the field to 15 years ago, for example, it's gotten stronger in terms of that depth.

warsawwrestling
Kerrn? My job is not to do all the research for you! I did all the 3 & 2 time Al Smith placing seniors before I ran out of time. Feel free to finish out the Seniors , Juniors and Sophomores. warsawwrestling
I heard Cummings weighed in at 121.4 on his last weigh-in. So, he would possibly be able to wrestle 120 at Al Smith and have his scratch qualification out of the way in one shot.

MCKAJC
While adding my roster into track it looks like #1 criteria is state place over placement at Al Smith. is that correct?

MCKAJC
great idea... so a kid could be a three time champ here but placement at a different tournament takes precedence. yeah good... glad that wasn't my idea Edited December 21, 2016 by MCKAJC

MCKAJC
I think Colton Cummings will get a #1 seed last year champ should. there will be lower placing al smith kids from 2015 seeded ahead of al smith finalists and champs from 2015. that's... well... ridiculous. can't ever remember a tournament that used a different event as #1 criteria. unless it was a first year event or event qualifier Edited December 21, 2016 by MCKAJC
Y2CJ41
If you are talking 152lbs, then Kerrn probably should be #1 due to winning Al Smith AND placing at state with Hatch #2.
