Mollinari wins by 1st period tech fall 10-0, but at least Samano got to wrestle

JT Felix and Cayle Byers up on mat 3. Scoreless thru 1st minute. Felix with a pushout, leads 1-0

Cabell making up for not being able to wrestle at NCAAs, trails Dustin Kilgore 4-3 at the break. Cabell gets a TD to take the lead, reversal by Kilgore makes it 5-5. Kilgore nabs another TD, leads 7-5, one minute left

Brandy Lowe up 5-2 on Alyssa LaFrancis

LOL, you noticed that, Matt? Currently playing? Roam by the B52s. Not a misprint. Am I really in Iowa?

Felix absorbs a shot by Byers, hits a blast double to put Byers on his back. Takes a 5-2 lead, with a challenge pending for Byers

Cabell gave Kilgore a great battle, but Kilgore pulled away 8-6

Challenge won by Byers, now 3-2 Felix's lead

37 year old Kristie Davis is up on mat 4 against Nahelia Magee. Davis has more world medals than any other American woman. First TD goes to Davis, who is old enough to have a daughter who just medaled at Cadet World's.

Cayle Byers finishes the comeback, wins 4-3 over Felix

Lowe beats LaFrancis 11-5

Davis up 4-0 on Magee

Niauni Hill leads Julie Salata 2-0

Currently playing? Wild West by Escape Club. This is not an April Fools

Niauni Hill beats Julie Salata 3-0

Victoria Francis up 2-0 on Brittany David

Hanna Hall up 6-0 on Mary Westman

Kristie Davis up 10-2 on Magee

Ramos enters the arena to a loud ovation.

Davis wins 10-4 over Magee

Garrett and Ramos getting after it. Garrett with a massive blast double, leads 2-0. Pushout by Garrett while holding Ramos' leg. Kid is bringing it today.

Hanna Hall wins over Mary Westman 14-3

Jessika Rottier up on Tanya Kusse 3-2

Francis techs David

Well a slight improvement with the best of Starship now playing over the speakers.

Also worth mentioning that IN's ref crew is again well represented at the national competition level.

We built this city by Jefferson Airplane. I couldn't possibly be making this up

Colon and Coleman Scott ready to throw hands (figuratively)

Garrett up 3-0 at the break. Garrett put on the shotclock, Ramos counters a nice single by Garrett, gets a TD near the edge

Colon and Scott knotted at 2-2, Colon with criteria

Well Jefferson Airplane split up and part of them became Jefferson Starship. Which then had a change of members to become just Starship when We Built this City was made. :). Waiting for Nothing Gonna Stop Us Now and Sara to get played next.

Glad to see C. Scott made weight but man his body looks depleted. Hope he's able to maintain a high level of energy through this grinding day.

Excellent point, Matt. We are blessed with numerous great refs in Indiana, including Tom Clark and Zach Errett

Looked away when Ramos was awarded that last point that won it for him by criteria over Garrett. Can anyone clue me in?

Scott starting to open up on Colon with some sweet ankle laces. Rolling him like a rag doll, wins 14-4. Very nice matwork

Daniel Dennis up 4-2 over Waters at the break

Sadly I knew it was Jefferson Starship, just a brainfart. Now it's Footloose by Kenneth Loggins

Alyssa Lampe winner by tech 11-0 over Breonnah Neal

Nicole Woody putting it to Clarissa Chun 4-0 in 1st period

Graff puts up a quick 6 spot on NATO. Now another TD, leads 8-0. Graff looking pretty monstrous thus far

Dennis impressively dominating Waters, wins 9-2

I've got no help for you since my internet feed got a little sketchy and missed the final score on one too.

Victoria Anthony with a 50 second fall of Cody Pfau. Anthony could be a medal contender if she wins her weight here today.

Mark Hall and Andy Howe up now. Howe quickly in on an elevated leg, nice funk by Hall, but Howe quickly spins around for the 2. Nice agility by Howe. 2-0

Chun storms back to take a 6-4 lead. A couple of turns on the ground makes it 10-4

Mason Manville up against Jacob Fisher

Howe with another TD, leads 4-0.

Nato can't seem to score on Graff....Graff wins by tech early in the 2nd period. Very nice work.

Fisher scores first against Manville, leads 2-0

Chun ends up teching her opponent. That's why she's a world medalist

Howe with a pushout, leads 5-0, 30 secs left in the 1st

Dierenger getting nasty with Adam Hall. A quick TD followed by a couple of turns. Flurry on the edge leads to 2 for Hall. Dierenger thought the points should be his, but no use wasting the challenge. 6-2

Howe with another pushout, leads 6-0. Stuffs a Hall shot, works the front headlock, grabs a single, Hall trying some nice funk, stalemate.

Geordan Speiller up 4-0 on Minny's Alec Ortiz, now 6-0

Manville and Fisher tied to start the 2nd period, Manville with criteria

Speiller with a 1st period tech of Ortiz. Guy has quite a build for the weight

Dierenger coasting a little heading into the 2nd. Leads 6-4.

Howe wins by tech over Hall 10-0. Hall was game, but Howe is Howe

Walsh quickly teched. by Haight

Manville impressive, wins by criteria over Fisher. Kid is a stud

Dieringer with a big throw out of bounds, leads 10-4. Probably clinched it for the Hodge winner

Marable up 2-0 over Vallimont.

Former PU wrestler Kendrick Sanders gets 4 points against Cowan, but he appears to be hurt legitimately. Trying to walk it off, but I dunno about this one

Perry with a TD and leglace, up 6-0 on LeValley

Marable continues to lead Vallimont 2-0, 90 secs left in period 2.

Dingo inform them to leave all the good matches off Mat 4 as for some reason that feed is currently showing Mat 3. I'll just "shake it off" until they get the issue fixed.

Sanders shows his toughness, comes back out, still leads 4-0, grabs another TD, leads 6-0. Now 8-0. Sanders really is a monster in Greco. He's hurt yet again. Wins by tech

Jacob Mitchell up 4-0 on Parker Betts, one of the less athletic looking fellows I've seen this weekend. No offense intended

Marable, who famously owns a win over Burroughs, wins 3-0 over Vallimont

Dieringer is next for Howe. Should be a doozie

J'Den Cox right into the deep end vs. Jake Herbert

Perry continues to control LeValley, leads 6-0...1 minute to go

I will tell them, LOL

Youy guys are missing Cox beating Herbert's ass. 7-0. Dominating in neutral. Herbert looks a little broken. 90 secs left in the match

Gavin with a TD and a series of turns, leads 8-2 over Ruth.

Robbie Smith with a big pin in no time flat of Carey

Looks like we are witnessing a changing of the guard. 7-1 Cox. Pushout by Cox, leads 8-1, 33 secs left.. Nice single by Herbert, Cox does the splits to avoid the 2. Unbelievable performance by Cox....Wins it 8-1

Coon techs Longendyke in HWT Greco

Gavin really putting it on Ruth, leads 12-4. Very topsy turvy weight today.

Trotman and the Magic Man David Taylor up on 4. Tying up.. Taylor warned for passivity

Hildebrandt up on 1, trails Fulp-Allen 2-0 very quickly

Gavin up 13-4, but a lot of time left for Ruth if he can regroup.

Taylor deep on a shot, Trotman trying to stall him out. Sorry it was Trotman on the clock, didn't score, Taylor leads 1-0

Erickson wins 6-0 over Lamb

Hildebrandt struggling to get through Fulp-Allen's hands' defense

Taylor/Trotman still 1-0 at the break. Trotman with a pushout ties it up, gives Trotman criteria. TD for Taylor, then a pushout for Taylor, he leads 4-1

Ruth has cut it to 15-8, but he's running out of time, quite frankly. Gavin impressively wins 15-8

Hildebrandt needs something and needs it fairly soon. 2:30 left in the match. Hildebrandt on the shot clock...gets a sweet low single, Fulp-Allen very flexible, fending her off, counters and gets 2, leads 4-0

Dake up now against Perry. Perry scores first with the pushout

Hildy is in big trouble, trailing 6-0. Fulp-Allen has been an unconquerable opponent thus far in Sarah's career and today feels familiar. Doesn't help that she hurt her knee earlier, but  Fulp-Allen is tough anyway

Taylor wins a good match 4-3

Fulp-Allen with another TD and a turn to get the tech win 10-0. Tough loss for Hildebrandt

Big Jake Varner up now against Francois

Perry looking dynamic agianst Dake, gets a single and a lightning quick turn, leads 5-2. Looked like Dake rolled Perry for points, but Perry was awarded 2 somehow...challenge thrown by Dake

Maroulis techs Jacobson

Dake wins review, now it's 5-4 Perry leads. Some nastiness between Perry and Dake. Both are warned by the ref. Both look super-pissed, which is nice. Perry comes out with more slickness, gets a 2 on the edge of the mat.

Varner gets a pushout, leads 1-0

Michaela Hutchison gets the first TD against Betterman, leads 2-0

So, Howe is all that's left for Indiana, as far as potential champions

Dake looking majorly winded coming off the mat. Not sure if he's sick, got the wind knocked out of him or was just tired from the battle back in the heavier/stronger weight class than he used to be in. But he's going to need get something lined out if he's going make it through two more rounds. Taylor is up next for him and we know he's not going to give Dake a slow paced match.

Kyvan Gadsen and Scott Schiller tied 2-2. Starts opening it up with some lifts and throws, boat-races Schiller by techfall 13-2. Crowd is pleased

Kilgore leads Michalak 5-4, one minute left. Michalak gets the TD on the edge of the mat., leads 6-5, Kilgore returns the favor, 7-6, back exposure by Kilgore, then reversal for Michalak, 9-8 Kilgore leads, but a challenge thrown by Michalak

Knowing Dake, he's suckering Taylor into thinking he's gassed. Perry is no joke, though. He's got great freestyle instincts and movement. Dake just sort of toughed this one out, but Perry is definitely capable of winning

Late TD wins it for Kilgore 12-9 over Michalak

Bergman up 1-0 on Byers

Mollinari wins 3-2 over Kristie Davis

Looks like Forrest Mollinari competed at 69kg on Saturday and 75kg today. Never heard of this.

Bergman up 3-0 on the lanky Byers....4-2 with 40 secs left...pushout for Bergman makes it 5-2. A late TD sends Bergman to the semis 7-2.

Augello up 4-2 on Lampe here in the semis. Lampe ties it up with a TD 4-4, but Augello has criteria with a 4 pointer.

Lampe shows her heart, takes a 6-5 lead on the always tough Augello. Augello with a late TD, wins it 7-6. DOwn goes Frazier, er, I mean Lampe. Top seed falls

Ramos and Scott up now. Should be a great match.

Niauni Hill 7-4 over Hanna Hall 53kg

Victoria Francis 9-0 Tanya Kusse 75kg

Anthony comes out blazing against Chun. A TD and two turns makes it 6-0

Ramos and Scott scoreless  with 1 minute to go in 1st period.

53kg Jessica Medina 2-0 over Christina Powell in consis

1st point to Scott. another point to Scott with the pushout, leads 2-0 at the break.

Anthony up 7-0 on Chun

Scott is just beating Ramos to positions, but Ramos is a nasty counter wrestler. does it again. scott scoops a leg, sucks it in, Ramos counters, gets the TD, ties it 2-2. Ramos almost immediately shoots and scores, making it 4-2 with 14 secs left. scott gets a clutch td to win by criteria 4-4...no wait, they say its ramos by criteria due to his 2 two point moves....ramos wins an interesting match

Manville getting his heat check in the form of nasty Geordan Speiller...9-2 lead for Speiller

Dennis storms back against Graff. Trailing 2-0, he gets a TD and two quick guts to take a 6-2 lead.

I though it was a little strange Scott got the original win call. I was wondering if Scotts corner may throw the brick to check for back exposure at the end as he was working for the final takedown. Guess not and Ramos wins in criteria.

Speiller techs Manville 13-2 in dominant fashion.

Dennis controlling the action now. Graff warned for some breach of the rules. still 6-2. Graff running out of time...Dennis wins, will face Ramos in the finals 6-2

Haight and Kendrick Sanders up on mat 2

Howe and Dieringer up on mat 3...here we go

Howe is apparently  bleeding, although I can't see it with my naked eye. Back at it. Tying up. Each trying to wear the other out with physical wrestlging. Dieringer on the shotclock, gets a nice TD on the edge of the mat. Howe looked a little surprised by that. Not catastrophic yet. Dieringer in deep on a double this time, Howe hips his way out nicely. Strong defense by Andrew. A break in the action while Dieringer is tended to

Haight techs Perkins

Back to action, Howe with the heavy paws. Looking to get by Dieringer's hand defense. Howe trails 2-0 at the break. He's ok, but he needs some offense

Big Robbie Smith up again on mat 2 against Jacob Mitchell.

The criteria  victories really bother me....make the wrestler earn the win in the end...Malinaro and Pico was a great example of this Pico got him on the shot clock twice and Malinaro knew he would still have criteria and just stalled it out, arn't we trying to make the guys wrestle?

Back at it with Howe and 'Ringer. Again tying up, lots of hands going back and forth. 2 minutes left. Nice single attempt by Howe, Dieringer avoids it. Howe struggling to get through that defense

Robbie Smith gets the TD and gator rolls Mitchell back and forth for the 8-0 tech.

It seems like every time they change the rules, there are always guys who take advantage of the rules and win these awful, defensive matches. Molinaro and Ramos come to mind immediately.

Point given to Howe. 2-1. Huge throw to Dieringer's back wins it for Howe 5-2. Helluva job by Andrew. Will face Marable or Perry for the right to face Burroughs tonight.

Erickson and Coon up now.. Coon draws first blood, leads 1-0, gets a gut wrench, leads 3-0

Marable/Perry up now

Coon techs Erickson 10-0

Not sure who I'd rather have Andrew face, Perry or Marable. It's Marable leading Perry here 2-0

Perry ties it 2-2. Marable with a big 4 pointer, leads 6-3. Marable wins 10-6, will face Howe

Maroulis up 2-0 on Fulp-Allen. Tim Creason just revealed that Hildebrandt was wrestling on a bad knee coming into today's action. For further information, check out his coverage at SouthBendTribune.com . Good stuff, as always.

Maroulis up 4-0. She is the best America has at this weight until proven other wise. Wins by tech 11-0
