Once again we have shown how accurate our rankings are with another great year for the final rankings. Note that our rankings are locked before sectional and these do not take into account injuries or semi-state draws as the state series progresses. This year we had a record 175 ranked wrestlers that made it to state. The top weight classes were 120 with 15 of the 16 state qualifiers being ranked. Also 132 had 14 ranked wrestlers and 106, 126, 152, and 182 all had 13. Unfortunately bringing up the rear was 195lbs with only 10 ranked wrestlers. That shows you how crazy of a weight that was.

When did we go from 16 to 20 ranked wrestlers? Doesn't that increase your chances of breaking your "record"? 56 extra kids

I think they always do before sectional

I meant what year? I think Y2 was stating the rankings are improving on getting them correctly, and I'm not intending to bash these dudes, but they're wasn't always 20 ranked wrestlers... it used to be on 16 when they first started. Which of course you're gonna have more ranked wrestlers go to state. That's 56 extra kids (14x4) having a chance going to state. My whole point is, rankings don't mean nothin! Hell we didn't even have rankings when I was in HS! I've seen the #1 and #2 kid in state lose Friday night MULTIPLE times!

I'm pretty positive that we have always expanded to 20 ranked wrestlers before sectional.
