Friday (2/5), Saturday (2/6) and Sunday (2/7) dual comparisons, AND ALL NEW TOURNAMENT RANKINGS!

Recommended Posts

After working on this for a few days with the Penn State fans, WrestleStat has come up with tournament rankings. These rankings incorporate ALL 3 point possibilities to come up with a team ranking. Those include placement, advancement, AND bonus points.

Bonus points are calculated by the average number of bonus points vs opponents also ranked in the top 32. Then that value is multiplied by the average number of wins that a wrestler will receive, based on their ranking, in the NCAA tournament. Then that number is multiplied by 0.75 to accommodate the tougher competition that they'll see at the national tournament. Add those points together for a team and you get the projected tournament points, as well as projected finish.

Here are the dual comparisons for the weekend. There's a pretty good list of headliners this weekend, including:

1) Ohio State vs Penn State

2) Illinois vs Nebraska

3) Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State

4) Iowa State vs Northern Iowa

5) Northern Iowa vs Kent State

6) Nebraska vs North Carolina State

7) Rutgers vs Michigan

8) Cornell vs Oklahoma State

In case any of you missed it, if these starters don't look correct, there's a new "Update Starters" page where you can change any of the starters for a team all from the same page. When you're one the dual comparison page, there will be a link on the left that says "(team name) Update Starters". This is much easier than having to go through each individual wrestlers profile and change their starter status. Don't forget, dual comparisons and rosters are cached/saved for 1/2 hour, so you may not see your change immediately.
