IndianaMat community Big-10 Fantasy Pick 'Ems

Recommended Posts

I know there are some other Big 10 pick 'em games going on at InterMat and other places, but I thought it would be fun to do one in the IndianaMat community.

We'll do it similarly to the TOM NCAA's game:  Build your own fantasy team and try to score more points than other entries' teams.

1. You must pick exactly one guy from each weight.

2. You may have at most two #1 seeds, two #2 seeds, two #3 seeds and two #4 seeds from the pre-seed lists posted here: http://www.bigten.org/sports/m-wrestl/spec-rel/030215aaa.html

3. Your team will earn points according to these placement values: 16 for 1st, 12 for 2nd, 9 for 3rd, 7 for 4th, 5 for 5th, 3 for 6th, 2 for 7th, and 1 for 8th.  No advancement points or match result points will be scored.

4. As a tiebreaker, predict the Top 3 scoring teams in order on your entry.  First tiebreaker criteria will be most champs on your fantasy team, second criteria will be your chosen team champ, then your chosen team runner-up, then your chosen 3rd place team.

5. Simply post your entry on this thread and make no edits after 10am on Saturday (you may edit until that time if you want to adjust after you've seen the final seeds and brackets). LIST YOUR TEAM IN WEIGHT ORDER WITH THE GUY'S PRE-SEED AND AT LEAST HIS LAST NAME, followed by your predicted top 3 teams in order.

NOTES:

A) Even if seeds change after the coaches' meeting on Friday, your entry must meet entry requirements that correspond with the PRE-SEED list!  You may get lucky and end up with a guy or two with final higher seeds than you selected!

B) You may select a guy that is not listed in the pre-seeds.  Be sure he's actually wrestling, though.  You get 0 points if he doesn't wrestle, obviously.

C) In the extremely rare circumstance that someone not listed in the pre-seeds ends up entering the tournament with a final seed of #4 or higher, he is NOT eligible to be selected for your team.

Point totals through Day 1 are listed below (with points still available in parentheses).  It should be noted that if you have guys left in the conso semi's, they could still place as high as 3rd and make a 6-point jump from their current spot of at least 6th.  This is why some guys with lower scores have more points available than those with high scores.  Some high-score guys have less available because their slew of finalists can only make 4-point jumps from their current level of at least second to being champs.
