IHPO Seeding New for 2014

This year we are using a different type of seeding for the IHPO. With as many states as we have represented it is hard to determine if a placer from Ohio should be seeded above one from Illinois or Iowa or Indiana. With our new way of seeding we put will group those wrestlers together and the computer will random seed the wrestlers in that group.

Each wrestler that qualifies will be given a "Separation Criteria" from the list below. The criteria are ranked in order.

1. State Champion/IHPO Champion

2. State 2-3/IHPO 2-4

3. State 4-5

4. State 6-8

5. State Qualifier

6. IHPO MS Champ/Other Credential

With these groups we will determine seeds.  Here is an example

If we have 2 wrestlers with #1 criteria, 4 with #2, 2 with #3, 2 with #4 and 5 with #5 this is how it will work.

The top two seeds will be the two wrestlers with #1 criteria

Seeds 3-6 will be the wrestlers with #2 criteria

Seeds 7-8 wrestlers with #3 criteria

Seeds 9-10 wrestlers with #4 criteria

Seeds 11-14 wrestlers with #5 criteria

By doing this I don't have to scrutinize different states and the top wrestlers are all separated equally and in a more efficient manner.
