MattM
This is a decent over all card in terms of fighting style matchups. Should be intersting to see what Shields can do against someone the caliber of GSP. Shields has pulled off several decision victories lately (though is debut vs Kampman could have been better) so if GPS game plans to stay cautions, avoid the BBJ, and assumes he will go the distance Shields may end up fairing better than some expect. Penguin145
Also remember if GSP wins this fight, he wants six months to prepare for 185 and he wants to move up to take on Silva.

I'd want more than 6 months to get close to that weight the right way, get used to fighting at that size, and gameplan for that battle. But if 6 months is enough so be it. But if 6 months is enough so be it. Well, GSP gets the three months of recovery time and then the six months. Every fighter gets around three months or so before thier next fight is scheduled. So really he has around nine months. There have been some times where fighters get thier next fight in three months, but not for a title fight. maligned
Machida Dec over Couture, Randy is a legend yet age might finally catch up with him. Yeah, unfortunately in the past several years, Randy gets beat to the punch against young guys. Although he truly does continue to grow his skills and understanding of MMA as he's claimed, he simply doesn't have the quickness necessary any more to hang with a guy of this caliber. I hate to be a downer, but I'll be surprised if he takes it to a decision. Machida's precision strikes and takedown defense will be a tough, tough assignment for the Couture of 2011. Smooth34
Another boring decision win by GSP.
maligned
Another boring decision win by GSP. Zero risks. Zero interesting moments. He's paid to win, so it's hard to blame the guy; but what made him so amazing in the past is his ability to dominate in any situation. Now, he just finds the skill area that suits him best against a particular opponent and makes no hint of doing anything else for the entire fight.
