devildog47959
That is a great article....... about of bunch of kidz who won't be wrestling by the time they get to high school cause their dad burned them out. [/quote Thats not true, yea there are a lot of dads that push there kids too far when it comes too sports, but they were many more who don't. Introducing uer kids to wrestling/sports at an early age is a good thing, if u never expose them to sports at an early age then more than likely they will never play them, they will be part of the new generation of kids that would rather play video games or watch tv, rather than be out getting exercise and having fun with sports. Not every kids that starts out wrestling at an early age is going to be a state champ or D1 wrestler, but i would bet that a larger % of them will be. those extra years on the mat will pay off as they get older and add strength, to there speed and technique. Pushing your kids into athletics is a good thing, as long as u dont cross the line, kids need to be lead by example, so dont put them thru practices and workouts that u wouldnt go through yourself. twinwrestlersmom
I think that the feeling is if the kids do nothing but wresting (ie no other sports) thats what will burn the kids out on wrestling. My kids are 3 sport athletes and probably always will be. I don't know maybe I'm wrong but thats the feeling I get.
