I would have to agree... I knew around 15 or more kids there for wrestling and not for camping out or running around... Not only having to deal with waiting for almost 3 hours to start wrestling, we also had to deal with some of the rudest people I have ever seen at a tournament... Adults sitting on top of other peoples things, moving other peoples stuff so they could sit there, and KIDS and ADULTS walking right over kids laying on the floor... I thought that the wrestling community was a trusting and caring group of people, but after yesterday I think NOT.....

Alot would depend on your kids age, I believe. You might check with your coach and he should be able to help you with that..

It is fair that we do weigh-in in the morning of the tournament.. I like that better then doing weigh-ins the night before or even satelite weigh-ins for 1 main reason.. The kids can put alot of weight on over night or even over a couple of days if the club weigh-in on wednesday night for saturday or sunday tournament.. I worked a table that checked in the satelite weigh-in kids and had different people that had different weights then what was sent. I think you should be able to pre-reg but not with weight. I believe what ever weight your at that morning is the weight you should wrestle....

Yorktown won the meet this morning with some big wins. ;D They have the finals at 2 p.m. against Dakota. We will have more details posted later tonight on the meet this morning and the final round.

My son took Coach Joe Wilmann's copper class at folkstyle state and I set back and watched and learned more from his class than I have from any other class that I have taken or set in for these copper clinics. He covered everything really well and so that everyone understood it the first time he went over it. This would be the best class offered for a long time. Great job Joe and keep it up....

Clint, I will forward your contact information on to our coach. We (Yorktown) had an elementary dual 6-way competion in mid November. I don't know if they are planning it for the same time frame again next year or not. Amy

You are correct and alot of places don't want to wait, but also the kid should be able to wait for his coach. If I understand right, the state tournaments will not start your match untill you have a coach present. I feel that all club tournaments should be ran the same way.

My understanding with most clubs during the freestyle season is that you are on your on at tournaments. Also that thier are different coaches with every club. Some clubs only have 2 or 3 coaches and others have 4 or more. All you need to do is let your coach know that you are coming up on a certain mat and he would be happy to help. Their are alot of parents that have been helping coaches also that can help in this also. ALL TOU NEED TO DO IS ASK. Everyone knows that the coaches can not make it to all the tournaments thru the state. Good luck at the tournaments you go to.
