  1. Perry Regional had 15 placers if I counted correctly. Not 21, but tough for sure.
  2. Southport sectional is close to the Avon enrollment, but not quite: North Central 3709 Lawrence North 2844 Lawrence Central 2255 Perry Meridian 2385 Southport 2391 Mount Vernon 1375 Roncalli 1081 Beech Grove 968 Christel House 509 Victory Prep 256 Total 17,773 I believe AlaskanMountie's point is that Southmont is very thankful to be in the Crawfordsville Sectional with a total enrollment of around 6,300!
  3. I think we have to go a different avenue. If you lose first or second round at Semi-state, the best you can get is 6th (wrestlebacks). Yes, this means one class, but top 6 make it to state. Why would the IHSAA allow this? Money talks! Friday is already an all day affair. You would put 30-50% more butts in the seats. Finalists at semi-state get a bye first round. Two rounds Friday of state. Let's Gooooo
  4. Not many have a line-up 100%. Why do we always take that into account. You wrestle with the best you have available. Could you imagine if we did that with other sports? When someone loses its a loss and they drop in rankings. We shouldn't rank or seed teams for their potential line-up. Teams should be rewarded for having a solid replacement.
  5. 2017 Team State Final Dual Brownsburg/Perry PM down and bumped last 3 guys and slid in JV Trainbolt for a win at 152 160 Lee maj Aiden Warren 170 Davis dec. Baptiste 182 #1 Nathan Walton vs. #1 Noah Warren...Noah first takedown, but Walton was too much 8-5 dec.
  6. Roncalli might want in. Don’t let bburg in. Harrison duals are probably done for next year and we will need a tourney.
  7. 1995 James Leavell DC and Vernon Cannon LC wrestled like 5 times that year. That was the best one year rivalry ever. Wrestled in the finals and James won in OT. I was told that they went different weights at Senior Nationals and both won. Someone help out. I looked and couldn't find the results.
  8. Actually, at the football championship games, they only allow 5 coaches on the sideline. It is part of the challenge. The RB coach has to double as DB coach. DL becomes OL coach as well. (sarcasm)
  9. Not sure why it’s not on ISWA. Flyer is on Track though. I will get with ISWA.
  10. Roncalli is having a JV only tournament on Feb. 6th. All that don't get to wrestle in a Sectional are welcome. This might be a good warm-up for some. Also, hoping this encourages more kids to extend their season. The flier is on the ISWA website and registration is open on Track. Contact me if you need any other information.
  11. Curious about why there is a need for a qualifier as well. I imagine it will be $30 plus $10 admission. Great way for someone to raise some cheese, but I am not sure why they need this. At CG, I think most weights were done by 5:00 or 6:00.
  12. How ironic for him to sign with Penn in college? Good luck though. Happy for the young stud!
  13. This year I think Marion County had 3 and last year had 5. Face it. You guys are #thecounty'ssmallernextdoorneighbor. Pretty good though.
  14. I figured you guys would throw the old, "we are much smaller." Sound like the class wrestling guys.
  15. Marion County probably has more titles and a longer streak.
  16. Perry Regional had 15 medals and 2 champs.
  17. 3a teams like Columbus East, Bloomington South, Northridge, and maybe a few others will be in the same situation. If you skip Al Smith you might not get in the following year.
  18. Chesterton, Crown Point, Cathedral, and Perry are all at Al Smith. What are these schools going to do if you qualify? I believe Al Smith is just two days before team state next year.
  19. Placed 2nd to PM in 2011...beating MD in the Semi-Finals.
