  1. Off topic, I remember Jay county having a damn good program then
  2. Forgot about him, thanks. Yeah would be a cool thing.
  3. Ok, I’m not in the know, but I was justmaking an observation, this SS was not like I remember.
  4. This is the final dual for the Hoosiers before the big tens at Chrysler arena in Ann Arbor March 4th
  5. So centralizing the location would not help attendance then from what you are saying. Area is so big fans don’t know the other competitors
  6. Lol, cut in half. Half of nothing equals………man it was dead from years past.
  7. All this is true, and except for the streaming part, was true back 5 years ago. So…….
  8. I remember this at the two facilities that hosted Evansville SS in the past. Hopefully it will come back. I know the wrestling was just as good or better that past
  9. Ok well then maybe the numbers this year was just a freak year. Iknow when they started at Ford you had lines starting an hour or so before the doors opened. It was a similar experience as the big show at Indianapolis. Not this year
  10. So poor Indianapolis SS, they have to wrestle in an ordinary HS gym, I also feel bad for the EC group. It sure was a hollow quiet atmosphere at Ford Saturday. I’m not so sure that it was even a quarter of the way full. That New Castle picture sure looked a lot more fun and exciting for the wrestlers to experience, in my eyes. I don’t know.
  11. If you weren’t there in the morning, for sessions 1and 2 , this is about what it looked like. I don’t think there is enough there to start a good fight.
  12. Sunday match is a warm up to the Big ten conference tournament March 4th. Looks like a walk over by Indiana, baring “ducks”. Interesting 174lb match. Donnel Washington vs. Rocky Jordan. Rocky started his college at Ohio State. Transferred this year to Chattanooga. At state he wrestled at 184. In 2019 these two wrestled each other and Washington won 4-3.
  13. From an analytical stand point, if this IS the new norm, the Ford center is an over kill for the minimal amount of people that attend. Any high school gym will do. Also worse than not having fans in attendance was the fact that the concessions did not have pulled pork nachos! I mean why even attend?
  14. First off I haven’t been there in 5 years or so ,until this year. Again fantastic day of matches. Where the cream get together. I was surprised by the sparse crowd. You could Almost sit anywhere at anytime for every session. Now in past years there in Ford, the place was packed ,and you had to squeeze in to get close seats .And the MD crowd would take up 2-3 full sections. Is this an off year here? Or the new normal? I’m trying to figure out why the complacency. Streaming may be part of the no shows but the teams had very small groups of fans.
  15. And unfortunately ,this is and always will be part of wrestling. You see it every year. Breaks our hearts for it to be this consequential for the wrestlers,in the state tournament, but it will always be part of the sport.
  16. Yes I understood “potential “ but not this year. He’s cutting to much or has residual form injury.
  17. Washington is a long shot for Indiana, if that’s who you are referring to as Indianas potential. I say zero for Hoosiers. Don’t know about Boilers
  18. Lol, I hear this. Seems like neither state programs can keep any traction in the conference. Now we have IU making a little run out of the basement and Purdue stepped right where the Hoosiers left off. The pendulum is swinging the other direction for each team. I mean it ain’t nothing to brag about for either team. But man, both programs can’t progress to ,and maintain ,a middle conference position until they show the high school recruits that they can keep the in state elite. Everything is national now for recruits, they see our big boys fleeing PU and IU. You don’t think that has a double edge sword impact on the recruiting process. And I know it’s not because Erstland and Escobedo haven’t been trying.
  19. Well Purdue got caught in a storm yesterday against Northwestern in Evanston. As the wildcats used some Indiana boys to do the job. Evan Bates and the Davison brothers. Instead of using backups northwestern just forfeit , and those were the only points the Boilers garnished. Score 30-12 Northwestern.
  20. Indiana wrestled at Michigan yesterday. Can comment too much because a lot of Michigan wrestlers were held from the”lowly Hoosier “ squad. One bright match was Gilcher and Lewan at 157. Michigan, lewan winning in a tie breaker. Washington took care of business, and Nick South took care of who was in front of him.
  21. This is the terps second dual win since joining the conference. So good for them. PU needs to get back on the recruiting trail.
  22. So bonus points did IU in. state has improved since Minkle. Good tough match for both squads.
  23. If this was a regular decision MS still had the match. Ok
  24. I say go to one of them. Easiest way I know.
