  1. A lot of changes happening in the Evansville Semi-State. The Mooresville Regional 4th place finisher is out at 120. With Antunez out opens up that bottom side bracket a little more.
  2. Those sound like some fightin words.
  3. Terrible to hear. Hope they both make a full recovery. Thoughts and prayers from us at Whiteland.
  4. I personally like this one better.
  5. Warsaw, sorry I should clarify from experience not general terms and it could be something else. However the two that I know that are having kidney problems now, are ones that cut excessive amounts of weight and did it often. I'm talking 15-20 lbs within a day during HS season. Felt they needed to cut that much to be competitive. Nothing like some guys going from 120 range down to 103 within a day. Constant fluctuation and always miserable during the season.
  6. First round will have plenty of good matches and they should only get better after that. I know I'm ready.
  7. 1. No 2. If it's a lb or two over a couple day period sure, but not 1-2 lbs right before weigh ins. It's middle school, who cares what weight they're at? Wrestle natural weight to help build long term strength. 4 good matches at natural weight is better than a miserable feeling 8 matches for 8th. 3. Not sure of governing rules for MS, depends who is hosting the tournament. Kids cutting weight at a young age makes it hard for them to want to do it in HS and could drive them away from the sport. I've seen it many times, kids think and feel that they have to lose 5-10+ lbs. They feel and act miserable during the season. The typically look terrible and long term damage from cutting excessive weight could lead to long term kidney problems due to hydration/dehydration fluctuations.
  8. I'm not going to make any predictions, but man I'm ready for these matches to happen NOW! Should be a great day for wrestling.
  9. Thanks for the write up. Pretty good idea of who lands where. Should be for a good day of wrestling.

  16. I'm okay with either. I don't know if the compression shirt and shorts will make that much of a difference in bringing the numbers up as some people think, but as of right now, aren't young wrestlers pretty much allowed to wear anything at local tournaments? Does ISWA require a singlet for participation at their state events or just weigh-ins? Maybe it's something that local state Associations adjust to allow compression shirt and fight/compression shorts to be wore in place of singlet to give wrestlers options, but also weigh-in in that same gear to wrestle in.
  17. OTT's always put on a great show, which helps the fan base, but a guy like Burroughs, is it really necessary? He's the best shot the US has at a gold, but what if he got significant a injury during OTTs? We all knew he was the best for that weight, why sacrifice it? A carefully organized scoring system would be big. Would a scoring system like that help push more wrestlers to attend more International competitions?

    OTT

Reece with a high scoring win over Kennedy. Got into a position close to his back but had his leg wrenched up. Pulled out the 14-10 win. Should be a good one between Pico and Humphrey. Miracle with a nice steady grueling high crotch attack match to win.
