Indiana's Freestyle team will face Virginia in the finals of the Bronze/Copper group for 9th place out of the 32 team event. Not a bad recovery on day two after a few tough breaks in close day one meets keep them out of the Gold/Silver group.

Senior Day 1 Escobedo makes semi-finals of challenge tournament vs. Simmons.

Good to hear (the placement not the circumstances). I believe top 3 traditionally are invited to the additional training camps and are sometimes asked to attend some of the other overseas competitions.

Indiana falls to Oklahoma to end up in the Bronze/Copper Pool for Saturday.

Micic over Fix in two straight to make the Junior World team. Lefever battles back to take 3rd in the challenge tournament.

Lefever falls in the semi-finals. Micic makes the best of 3 championship vs. Fix.

Junior Division Riley Lefever in the semi-finals of the challenge tournament. He will have a very tough Chandler Rodgers next. Micic just won to make the finals of the challenge tournament. He gets Jack Muller next with the winner advancing to face Daton Fix in the best of 3 finals. Fix surprised many by beating Micic in the Junior Open finals.

Nice redemption by the Greco squad who lost yesterday to Oklahoma in their pool competition by 15pts.

No qualifier necessary for Greco so it maybe more like not relevant. So only complaint you maybe able to muster here is Indiana on going lack of Greco interest. You may as well save the qualifier talk up until freestyle starts. Cadet Greco team currently in a battle for 3rd place in their pool.

A few Indiana guys shifted up or down with Flo's recent update. The biggest rankings climbers from IN were Rypel into #2 spot at 195 and Woods to #5 at 220.

Strange, I was just trying to look that one up last night. Guess I was a day off on my timing. Nice job Chad Red with being selected to the 2nd Team. Without a decisive head to head match the selection committee often tends to lean a little towards the senior side of thing when making some 1st team decisions, but, but still a good honor for him.

I see that Metcalf put a 10-0 hurting on the notorious "Donnie" Baker in the first round today. I guess all that extra training is why we didn't hear much from him this season. So now Ol' Donnie can get back to worrying about his boat.

Per the USA Wrestling site information on each Regional: Open to ALL wrestlers that meet the necessary age requirements. Top four (4) place winners at this event qualify for your state`s ASICS/Vaughan Junior National Championship (July 18-25, 2015) teams above the state limit (in the style in which you qualify). Athletes must still adhere to all state policies and you qualify in the style in which you place. However, with some of the better wrestlers in the Mid-West attending this event each year, placing in the Top 4 in many of the weight classes will not be an easy task. It's laughable that your distain for the coaching staff is so deep that you turn my pleas to stop ruining all college wrestling thread with your "I hate Goldman" rhetoric has become some belief that I must be some IU coach super fanboy. It's been nice for the last half of the college seasons being able to read discussion without seeing your standard Goldman hate post butting into most of the college threads. I commend you on at least sticking to a proper thread this time instead of ruining the others on this board with the IU coaching jabs. But why should I offer anything now when clearly all others comments have been ignored or misconstrued due to the blinders you clearly have on. -
I believe the two event requirement was for Freestlye only. Greco has too few events to really make that qualification plausable at this point. So your son could have participated in the Greco event.

They do have double our state population and a somewhat stronger wrestling interest level in that land of Lincoln. Wisconsins numbers maybe slightly better for comparison purposes based on state population and wrestling interest level.

I don't have any inside info on that one, but I would venture to say having a national runner-up under their watch isn't going to garner any complaints from the AD. -
