  1. WZBD is doing the finals! Good job AJ & Rex. Total Focus
  2. Both ACAC and NHC started at 11AM. TF
  3. Wonderful. I just ran out to wal-mart after working from 6pm last night to 8 this morning to buy hdmi cable so we could watch on tv from our laptop. I have been to all but 3 Team State Finals, and will attend in the future. There is nothing like watching Bellmont Wrestling and listening to my young golf coach A.J. Kalver and his sidekick Rex Brewer on WZBD! Jeff Sheets
  4. Congrats Trey Reese joining cousin 215 lb Billy Baker at the TOP! Jeff & Jen Sheets
  5. Good Luck at State this weekend Bobby Keuneke, Brooks Faurote, John Mahlan, Ryley Hankenson, Ben Baker, Travis Thatcher and Daniel Meyer. Set your target and Aim High Braves, the arrow will strike! Jeff Sheets
  6. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mary, Dan and Jenny. Brothers Kenny, Jim, Joe, Mickey and Families. If there is a wrestling mat in Heaven, you can be sure John Friedt is close to it! Jeff, Jen, John and Will Sheets
  7. As I was growing up in the Decatur/Bellmont area, my parents would tell me there were 2 words that I should not use in a phrase. Always and never was preached to my sons over the years. Not untill today I found a meaning to use these words for a purpose. When my eldest son John started wrestling with the Decatur Wrestling Club in 1992, and youngest son Will in 1995, more than I can count we were the last to leave practice. Thank you John Friedt for NEVER telling us that it was time to go, and Thank you John Friedt for ALWAYS being a gentleman. Your guidance helped my sons become men over the years. Jeff Sheets
  8. The wrestlers from Bellmont I would label, "The Magnificent Seven", after a popular movie! TotalFocus
  9. Our prayers go out to the Friedt family for John's recovery. Give him strength Lord. Jeff, Jen, John and Will Sheets
  10. #3 Bobby Keuneke 29-13 over #2 Chas Busz 24-1, and over #1Will Nelson 29-2 to punch his State ticket!
  11. As far as I know at least one parent hailed from Bellmont of any wrestler I know after 1992. Trivia: what high school starting 14 has won a State title with one parent Graduating from same school? Probably none with layoffs in Indiana as of lately. Totalfocus
  12. I told my sons there are 3 ways to lose. 1. Your opponent was better. ( today) 2. You made a mistake. (forced or unforced) 3. Official ( very rare but sometimes can influence a close match) I never would criticise my sons for losing, only for their effort. Losing and making mistakes are part of lifes lessons. Its the ones you do not survive from that are not learned. Jeff Sheets
  13. It was 1969 when we lined up for 6th grade gym class when Gary Giessler entered the gym. My good friend Mike Hoopingarner offered congratulations! I looked at Mike and asked what for? He then told me Mr. Giessler had just returned with a State Champion for Bellmont, ( 138 lb Phil Lengerich). I looked back at Mike and replied, "we have wrestling?" Here it started in 1962 with Decatur High School. After that a new intern Gym Teacher started, A.J. Kalver. The rest is History. Jeff Sheets
  14. Team State started 1996 with Bellmont Middle School coach Sean Faurote on that team ( my first state meet of any kind). Bellmont has been to all but 2 Team State Finals. 1 loss to Yorktown 30-24 at Regional level last year and 1 to Wawasee 31-30 at Semi-State 1997. Jeff Sheets
  15. It takes alot of pounding to get it through this thick German head of mine. I was not involved in wrestling till 1992 when my eldest son started wrestling, and I do have a golfers mentality. I appreciate what you do karl, as well as all that keeps this website intact. JEFF SHEETS
