It was a excited crowd for sure! It added to the atmosphere -
I don’t know if Brownsburg would accept I would invite 1. Avon(mater dei classic) 2. new prairie( Willey Duals) 3. New Palestine(Connersvile) young studs 4. Heritage Hills some really good big guys 5. maybe a solid team THsouth, Adams central, greenfield Central or Hamilton southeastern I thought there were a good amount of forfeits in the Cave. I think the tournament is to good to be raising hands early on

Gavin Jendreas and Reese Courtney became the 21st and 22nd 3 time Al Smith Champion. Reese did it in Every Al smith he has wrestled in, lost a year to COVID. Very impressive Gavin Jendreas will be looking to become the 4th 4x champion Randy Baker Bellmont Tommy Forte Mishawaka Drew Hughes Lowell Gavin will be tough to beat the champ beneath him and the Champ above him are both Bulldog teammates

Man I would love to see them in the Al smith, I saw Fleeger there. Did new Prairie not wrestle this weekend? It would be cool to see a couple new teams get in Delta maybe….

Why would Griffen major brabender? They wrestled at IHPO 8-1 and it was a closer match to me watching it in my opinion

Thats a good question maybe gym size but I know Coach Sandefer loves wrestling and loves the Al Smith tournament. Teams come there to get state level matches and Mishawaka makes that happen

Great win by Swathwood at 113 to knock off the #1 seed Hawkins is tough, losing his freshman year put him in a tough spot -

For the rankings I use a lot of factors and some opinion. But one of factors I use for rankings that isn’t used for off season results. I think Hawkins is the number 2 kid in the weight possibly #1. Tishner would have had Criteria over Shaffer due to last years medal rounds. Due to the seeding criteria even if Landon was undefeated there were 4 guys with state finals appearances ahead of him. I wasn’t at the meeting but I do believe the coaches had the opportunity to argue for higher seeded Sometimes the state rankings don’t match my semi state rankings and I can tell you neither matches my pick’ems -
I would guess 106 and Malone being pretty low it looks like they went pretty heavy on records. A couple weird ones but I wouldn’t say terrible

Man 2 tough unseeded Warren Central kids got really tough draws first match. Could shake the brackets up early or make a run in the back side who will be the Al smith Break out wrestler?
