  1. UIndy Academic National Champs again. Wrestling is short lived a career is everlasting. This program produces great wrestlers, but most importantly they produce student athletes.
  2. Congratulations Alec, you are a true stud. Joshua would talk about you all the time. Great work habits, tough competitor, and a tremendous young man. So proud of you. It seems like years ago, but Lance would tell me several times how good you would be, and he was 100% correct. You have a great family, and I am so happy for all you guys. The curse ended and a new chapter has started about Roncalli wrestling. State Champ.

  8. This picture was Joe state championship. Wrestling played a big part in Joe beating this disease. Our family has never forgot what the wrestling community did for our family. Thank you for all your support.
  9. Joe Rings the Bell By Jenny Kieffer — 52 minutes ago Today was a huge day for Joe and our family, his treatments are finished. Joe will continue to go to Riley Hospital once a month, but only for CBC. His treatments are done. Our Riley family, Joe oncologist Mike Fergusion and all the nurses gather around today to witness Joe ring the survivor bell. On the wall the bell sits, is a plague that reads " Ring this bell three times well, its told to clearly say, my treatments are done, the course has run, and I am on my way". We heard those words and it was awesome, long time waiting. We pass that bell hundred times and all I envisioned was Joe standing in front and saying those words. All the prayers were answered at that moment. Joe is a warrior, and a fighter. Joe has been kicked to the ground, and stood back up and kept plowing forward. He is my inspiration everyday, and we are so stoked for him. I can't say enough thank you's to all the people who have prayed for our family everyday. To all the doctors especially to Mike Fergusion, nurse Jenny, and all the nurses. For all the people who have donated their time and money for children's cancer research. My list of appreciation to everyone would never end. This day was for everyone who walked this same path. Please keep all the children in your nightly prayers. Thanks again, The Kieffer Family
  10. Not sure of the exact line-up. I have some idea, but would not want to speculate. I do know that Justin Kieffer is RS ( is in nursing school and this would give him the opportunity to attend his clinicals) Josh Kieffer is going 125, I believe DJ is RS, and N. Crume is going 133. They have some solid recruits, plus a host of returnees and some transfers that should create a solid room. The coaching staff is full of undergraduates, and grad students which should be a huge addition for Coach Wartham.
  11. Sorry to hear the news about Mr. Thornton. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
  12. Congrats Jason, way to represent.
  13. Congrats to UIndy wrestling program. The seniors laid the foundation, nice job to Weiss, Wooding, Brady, Johns and the entire class of seniors. You guys are great example to follow. Also big congrats to Riley Lever and the entire family.
  14. Jackie Paquette, Asst. AD for Student Support & Sports Information 3/5/2014 10:51:00 AM NCAA DII COACHES POLL - MAR. 5 EDMOND, Okla.- The UIndy wrestling team, fresh off of winning the NCAA Division II Super Region #2 title, is up to #4 in the finale edition of the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Poll for 2013-14, released Wednesday morning. The Greyhounds, winners of a Regional title for the first time in program history, were previously at #14. Jeff Weiss (29-6), #6 in last week's poll, moved up to #3 at 165, by virtue of his first Regional Championship and first qualificiation for nationals. Rounding out the Greyhound rankings is #7 Evan Wooding (27-8), who returns to the poll after being ranked in the preseason edition. Wooding, who took third at this weekend's regional, is now also a two-time national qualifier. Joining Johns, Justin Kieffer, Brady, Weiss and Wooding at the 2014 NCAA Division II National Championships will be Josh Kieffer (133) and Shelden Struble (157). The seven national qualifiers ties the most -ever by a UIndy wrestling team. This year's national meet will be held in Cleveland's Pub
  15. Congrats to Coach Wartham and the entire team on the first ever Regional Championship. Awesome weekend.
  16. Coach Warthan is great man, and treats these kids like his own. He has recruited some studs the last few years. UIndy is great fit for these kids. If you follow D2 wrestling, most kids start out D1, but after a year of wrestling D1, transfer into a programs in likes of NAIA, D2, D3. On a side not: UIndy wrestling team is among the top 5 programs in the classroom. Coach Warhtam won a National Championship few years ago with above team G.P.A. avg 3.50.
  17. 2009 Friday night match at State, Raley and Justin Kieffer. Justin beats a returning State Champ 3-2. Ethan's wrestling career was one of the top in this state, and continues at IU.
  18. Jackie Paquette, Asst. AD for Student Support & Sports Information 12/15/2013 4:05:00 PM TEAM SCORES | BRACKETS | PHOTO GALLERY (Facebook) INDIANAPOLIS- The #9 UIndy wrestling team posted its best finish in the last decade of the annual Midwest Classic with a tie for second in the team scored event, which ended Sunday in the Greyhounds' Nicoson Hall. UIndy amassed 107.5 team points to tie with #17 McKendree for second place overall, while #4 Newberry took the team title with 127.0 team points. In addition to the team finish, UIndy's Alex Johns was named the Michael O. Horton Most Outstanding Wrestler at the event, becoming the first Greyhound to win the award since Shane Perkey in 2008. UIndy takes a break for the Christmas holiday, and returns to the mat after the first of the year at Ashland's Mid-Atlantic Duals Jan. 5.
  19. In the 133 bracket, just counting the Indiana kids. 16 state medals were collected in HS. It was really neat to see all these Indiana kids still wrestling at the next level and having success.
  20. I thought Nick looked pretty solid, but should be noted riding time was not used during any matches. I have heard Nick was RS. U of I as a team looked very good. The class they just recruited look pretty solid. The team ranking right now is 10th, but could and should be in the top 5. They have a shot of winning it all. They have a solid line-up with great room.
  21. Joe, pretty sure Ethan Raley won it in 2010
  22. Right on Lance..Glad Nick posted these videos..
