  1. Great job @ducktails Might need ya next week to save the TripleB Evansville Preview!!! I'll be in touch!!!
  2. This is why @Y2CJ41 will be adopting DoubleB here in a few months!!!
  3. I'm with Kendrick. It's not a shot at any team in the Jeff Sectional or anything, the disparity needs to be addressed. Switzerland County should be at Richmond this weekend Eastern back to Jeff New Albany and Floyd should be back at Jeff Corydon, Crawford Co and North Harrison to Southridge
  4. Best wishes to my South Boys, we so tough it's a struggle to even get on the scale!
  5. The new forfeit rule is also being exploited from what I hear.
  6. State will be permanently moved to Evansville.
  7. I've personally made a habit out of yelling things that make no sense randomly, I'm guessing little B has gotten used to it or doesn't hear me. It's not even crazy stuff, just things that sound like they make sense but have no grammatical or literal sense in terms of what's going on.
  8. Need my 5 min every week “What’s Grinding TripleB’s Gears”
  9. Why is the Girls HWT class for Middle School State so low compared to High School Girls HWT? For reference - MS HWT is 165 and HS HWT is 235 I'm starting a formal verbal petition to make MS weights more in line w/ HS weights. Since Floyd got in and won IHSWCA duals, I need something new to be upset about.
  10. Ticket Round matches are the best; First Rd Regionals, Quarters of SS....... give me more, give me more. 28 finalists, One State Championship match per weight under the LIGHTS!!! I'm drowning in awesomeness. Forget that other post w/ all the nonsense cultural pot-stirring. I want single class wrestling!!! #ClassWrestlingKills #QuoteTheAncientElder
  11. Well yeah I guess that makes more sense, I forgot about Shuey...... SHUUEEEYYYY what a deep weight class!!!
  12. Pittman and Zuck both punch SS tickets. Don't sleep on Madtown, the Badboyz are on the rise! They are HUNGRY and all the other cliche words!!!
  13. East got dinged last year for a stomach bug that ran through the team and kept starters out vs. Greenfield Central and look what happened. So the message I'm hearing is if you don't have your guns, just skip the day and don't put a team on the mat?
  14. Good luck coach, best answer is to expand to 12. It's gotta be hard to keep the #2 team out Or the team that beat the team that beat the #2 team.
  15. I get all of my info from Indiana's wrestling leader - The Other Mat of Hoosiers.
  16. A banged up Floyd team lost to a full power Cathedral team A banged up Cathedral team lost to a full power Franklin team. So when the voters look most will just see Franklin over Cathedral and Cathedral over Floyd Also the power poll is based on individual rankings, not forecasting potential dual finishes. All of that being said #LetFloydIn
  17. I know they say....no exemptions... but last year exemptions were given. If Brackets don't fill up to 32 they let kids in. I had a kid place last year that didn't get to compete at the qualifier b/c he was medically cleared. 32 didn't sign up so he got in and went on to place 8th.
  18. We started an elem league down south. It's exploded from a handful of teams to 16 teams. My goal is to always maximize matches and minimize time. This Sunday Madison will host a 5 way, 4 matches guaranteed, full JV surface. Will start at 10:00 and be done by 3:00. Owen Valley hosts an 8 way. Last weekend Scottsburg did a 10 way w/ 8 full surfaces, 4 rounds of wrestling and 2 full JV surfaces. This not only gets matches but creates camaraderie amongst the parents and kids. WE are building programs from the ground up. Elem duals blows away double elimination tournaments! Teams this year - Colt Wrestling Ky, Columbus East, Columbus North, Eastern, Edgewood, Henryville, Indian Creek, Jeffersonville, Jennings County, Madison, North Knox, Owen Valley, Shelbyville, Scottsburg, Southwestern, West Washington Yeah I know free advertising... hit me up, we are always looking to expand
  19. You'll never get buy in from every middle school, but it starts w/ a grassroots effort. Get a group of MS coaches together - come up w some baselines for weights and periods and just start pushing it. Indiana Wrestling Middle School Coaches Association And if you go my "Jr High" you're not welcome.... wait Madison is a Junior High.... I guess all are welcome. I've told @Madtownxwrestler to boycott any place that has ridiculous weights, but we aren't sure our AD would like that.
  20. You have to be careful in today's times. Let kids declare weights, once trust is gained and assuming you are being safe with a kid, then you can lean on them about making a sacrifice for the team. If you have support of family and the kid believes, it's not an issue. But if either aren't aligned, it's not worth it. Grab a cold one and sit on the porch and cuss the kid......
  21. It's a new breed. The weight cutting thing has always been shifting away from that dynamic. My kid is an 8th grader, he cuts for some bigger tournaments but wrestles whatever for Jr. High in season. I've heard tons of stories already this year that makes my eyes roll. Here's the deal, kids are different, parents are. Don't be soft and don't cuddle your kids. I used to tell my parents when I coached youth - let's go get beat up, let's get a fat lip, let's get smoked. Today's parents don't like to hear that!
