  1. Aiden did not disappoint! Some great set ups and freestyle finishes to add in our tool kit! Great job Aiden. We will be back at it next week with Sean Schmaltz from contenders. 6pm, enter door 9. Just a few weeks left to prep for freestyle and greco state.
  2. We are all set for tonight 4/15/24. We have Aiden Sprague for UInday. Aiden did two of our RTCs last year and was great. Enter door 9 starts at 6. We will have some time at the end for live wrestling tonight.
  3. We have great numbers for this weekend and are expecting a great tournament. if you are coming just a heads up that Main Street and Indiana Street are going to be closed tonight at 9pm and will be closed through Monday. So if you are coming via 144 or 42 you'll need to avoid that area. You may want to give yourself some extra travel time to be sure. Our school parking lot will be open tonight and tomorrow during our event so that will not be a problem. I made my famous BBQ for the concession stand, it'll go quick so get it before it runs out!! Coach Mikesell
  4. Great clinic from Coach Eppert last night. There will be no RTC at Mooresville on 4-8-2024. But we will be back in action 4-15 guest to be announced. 4-22 we have Coach Schmaltz from Contenders Wrestling academy.

  7. It was a great day at Mooresville for Indiana Wrestling. One high light for me was the amount of team members both boys and girls who came up to me and thanked me for having them on the team and how much they appreciated the opportunity to compete one more time. We really are producing some great wrestlers in our state and more importantly these kids have a lot of class and respect. Indiana Gold boys battled hard but came up short 37-22. Winners for the gold team were; Mason Jones Luke Rioux Tony Wood Chis Bohn Duke Myers Indiana Blue sealed a victory for our home state 35-27. Winners were: Gavyn Whitehead Griffin Sanders Carson Fettig Michael Cain Keegan Martin Tyler Schott Brady Byrd Josiah Dedeaux The girls beat Iowa 63-12, but came up short against Illinois 21-44 Double Winners for the girls were: Tola Aluka Sophia Buechner Rose Kaplan Leila Thomas Winner vs Iowa were; Tola Aluka Sophia Buechner Rose Kaplan Leila Thomas Kyra Tomlison Alexes Spaulding Kaylea Beauchamp Jaiah O'Neal Michela Clifford Portia Weaver

  11. Here is what I was sent by the Illinois Team Leader : Indiana Gold will Wrestle Lincoln and Indiana Blue will wrestle Reagan.
  12. I was told today that Illinois will get me their line up later this afternoon or early this evening.
  13. We have an open spot at 190 on the girls team now. Any senior 190 that is interested please contact me. Dan Mikesell daniel.mikesell@mooresvilleschools.org
  14. It is at Mooresville High School this year. Not sure about having it streamed as of yet. $5 spectator fee. Not bad for the quality of wrestling.
  15. Since those guys sit in on the seeding meetings and usually hang around the coaches in their area, if they want "smack talkers" I am sure they can point them in the right direction. Mooresville Regional: Not necessarily smack talkers but the list of coaches who have had success and have been around for a while with lots of contacts and information you could include would be several: Darrick Snyder, Maurice Swain, Josh Curry, Alex Johns, Anthony Meister, Brett Nabb. That regional also has two coaches that influence the area that are not on a high school staff but could add insight to the toughness of the regional: Chad Red and Sean Schmaltz.
  16. Teams are almost set, the girls team is full. Boys team needs 113 and 2 at 120. I've sent a couple emails out today, but at this point if you are a senior wrestler at 113 or 120 contact me and we will go from there. Coach Mikesell
  17. The coaches association has Regional Reps for each regional. Maybe start with those coaches and then they can direct you guys to the coaches from their perspective regional that have had success and are wired in with pertinent information.
  18. The room was rocking last night, over 40 total kids with 6 different schools represented. Coach Runyan ran a great workout in preparation for ISWA state, thanks a million coach. Next week we will have Joey Butler for the freestyle kickoff night. Indiana state champ and currently wrestling for the Hoosiers. Enter door #9.
  19. We will kick off our first Mondays at Mooresville RTC March 4, 6pm - 7:30pm. Our first clinician will be Briar Runyon. State champ and former head coach at Martinsville High school. It will be a folkstyle RTC to prep for ISWA folkstyle state. Last year we averaged 40 + kids and had more than 10 schools represented during the RTC season. Come get better and remember it is FREE just have to have USA wrestling card. Coach Mikesell
  20. We are getting a lot of commitment, we need our best to compete, we've split with Illinois the past two years, lets go for the sweep this year! Mikesell

  22. I believe I met all the top 3 place winners from Freestyle and Greco this past weekend. If somehow by chance I missed getting to you, here it the website to find all the information about the Junior Fargo Team. https://www.iswa.com/fargojuniornationals If you were in the top three and plan to attend Fargo, I encourage you to attend Central Regional at The Allen County War Memorial Coliseum located in Ft. Wayne may 19-21. This will help team Indiana and your chances as it opens spots for our roster and also gives you separation criteria. Here is the website for that information: https://usawrestlingevents.com/event/2300008502 If you plan to go, please contact me and register online ASAP, July seems like a long way off, but it'll be here before we know and getting our roster built is the first piece of the puzzle for a successful trip. If you were top three and know for sure you are not going, let us know so we can move down our list to the next available athlete. Watching our Freestyle and Greco Finals this weekend, I am extremely optimistic about the number of All-Americans we can have. Dan Mikesell Jr. Team Leader
